3-5, RBI, 2R
.286 AVG
GG defense

Batting him 9th is probably the best scenario for him. There's less pressure to perform, but you've also got Acuna for protection.

Really like how the Braves are handling this. Letting him play everday, get at-bats and get comfortable while batting him 9th so there is way less pressure on him to perform.

I'm a Braves fan, but I wish the Padres would have done this for Abrams. You make it so tough on guys like Abrams/Harris when you promote them to the majors and then platoon them. Both these guys barely have any at-bats AA or higher and the experience is going to be key.

I agree. What happened with Abrams? Why was he sent down?

No reason to call him up and not get lots of playing time. Plus the other OFs aren’t exactly doing much such as Duvall or Heredia.

He's so much fun to watch. I was lucky to snag this while he was still under the radar, but nothing nearly as fancy as some of the other cards in this thread:

CSG 10 is no joke. I’d think about sending that bad boy to Beckett!

Bringing up Harris seems to have coincided with Duvy’s improved play as well!

Nah that's for my PC, and I'm not a fan of BGS slabs.

Here are the only other two cards I have of his graded right now:

Braves are goin to have a tough decision when Rosario is ready to return. Can't see them sending Harris back down. Even if he slumps, he is the only true CF on the roster and plays great defense.

Duvall or Heredia will be DFA'd I imagine.

It would be Heredia if any. Duvall is capable of playing all three positions, and has been one of the better CF since last year. And while the outfield wasn't hitting, the biggest reason why Harris was called up was to improve the defense, as having Demeritte and Ozuna/Arcia/Contreras gave them one of the worst outfields defensively in the league. When Rosario comes back, if Harris isn't hitting, he could easily be sent back down. Duvall and Acuna and their range allow LF to shrink for Rosario/Ozuna.

Duvall is a great corner outfielder, but most advanced metrics rate him as a below average CF. Outs above average loves him, but he's below average in DRS, UZR, and dWAR.

If our goal is to improve OF defense then I think you keep Harris in CF regardless. It's unlikely he's going to hit worst than Duvall has to start the season and he's a better CF than Duvall is.

Harris is a better hitter and defender than Adam Duvall. Interesting that you continue to think otherwise?

Heredia would probably be the odd man out when Rosario returns. Makes a lot of sense

Heredia brings the excitement and energy especially with all the celebrations. If he were to leave that would be a bummer in that regard.

Agreed, Heredia is easily the odd man out here. What is unfortunate tho is that will mean there’s no place to play Contreras. Maybe (probably?) he cools off by then, but he’s swinging great right now. Great problem to have tho!

Interesting that I never said anything about hitting in this post. Quite the assumption you made there. Harris was called up because they had one outfielder who could play everyday. They moved Duvall because he has experience playing multiple positions. Easier on Harris to slot him into center instead of making him adjust even more.

Think whatever you want, but if it absolutely came down to DFA Duvall or send Harris back down, unless Harris is just crushing, he's being sent back down.
