I've got a few cards in their Vault that I will test out w/ BIN or Best Offer, but the flash auction thing is intriguing...
I have 4 cards up for flash auction right now, will report back sunday night..

Sale prices were a little under what I hoped for 2 of the cards, but nothing too surprising given market trends. I didn't put much effort in sharing my listings/don't really have a cards social media following going, though don't know if that would have helped anyway. All my auctions got sniped/had a decent jump in the final seconds, no surprise there.

So far 3 of the 4 buyers have paid and I've received one sales credit to my account. No complaints, easy process for getting things listed, etc.

I just completed my first PWCC auction, my first of any kind of consignment or auction house, and must admit my experience was flawless!

I packaged the card, sent it their way, two weeks later (I missed the first round) my auction was listed, sold, collected and wired payment to my account. Throughout the process, they were quick to answer any questions via chat.

My main reason for selling through them was I didn't want the hassle of dealing with buyers who scam, return, or have other issues on a $10k+ card.

I will use their services again!

Question for you guys. Can you give a theoretical breakdown of a $5k card submission?

From the start to the finish, how does the process go? (submission/fees/payment/etc.)

If you send them a $5k card and it sells and the buyer pays, are you 100% then guaranteed payment in full (minus fees of course) and then sent a no-risk wire?

Is the only caveat to this entire process that the buyer doesn't pay and it needs to be relisted?

If a card is purchased on ebay buy a buyer and then returned to PWCC do they then assume ownership themselves and relist themselves?

glad to hear it. Mine have been pretty much flawless too. Sometimes I’ve wished the prices were higher, but that’s true for any auction house I’ve consigned with. And it was certainly the case when I used to sell on eBay myself. I do not miss those days.

Based on what I experienced, for your $5k card:

- create an account with PWCC
- create submission
- package and send your card
- once received, your card will appear in you dashboard
- if you miss the initial monthly deadline, you'll get placed in the second round (that's what happened to me)
- auction goes live
- auction closes
- PWCC collects
- PWCC funds your account
- you submit wire or request check
- You'll net about $4500

There may be a few details in missing but that's the gist.

Again, my main reason for submitting is I didn't want to deal with buyers who try to pull something sneaky.

My advice to you is start by contacting PWCC and or creating an account.

Good luck

Thanks for the breakdown!

When auction closes, and buyer pays - how soon after is payment sent to me?

And after the payment was sent to me - is there any possible liability if the buyer returns for any reason?

Payouts are right around the 15th the following month your auction ends. So for example, if you have cards in the July auction you can expect to be paid out the middle of August for those cards. They do not pay out until the entire monthly auction has run.

I have never had a card returned by a buyer who has paid to be able to answer this question. I have had it happen numerous times from Rick Probstein and he sends you an invoice.

Thanks!

I'm wondering if, from that time the listing ends until the time of the payout, a buyer can cancel or return and I would be liable? Or once the buyer pays, am I guaranteed to be paid regardless of what happens next between the buyer and PWCC?

And what does PWCC do then with any returned cards after they've already paid out? Do they assume the ownership and relist on their own behalf?

I have to say that the chat feature is pretty slick

Obviously it's not some earth shattering invention, a million places have one, but for hobby purposes they are pretty responsive.

I bought 4 or 5 cards about a month ago and the most expensive one, like $750, they sent me a PSA 8 instead of a PSA 10 (a PSA 8 had sold the same night)

They were very responsive on the chat feature, and via email, about trying to recover my item before they eventually just sent me a full refund.

I haven't sold with anyone but that's a bonus over some other places that are harder to get a hold of.

I have sold ~350 low to mid end cards through PWCC in the past five months. Less than 10 out of the 350 were not paid for the first time but they were relisted automatically in later auctions and were paid for. The whole process is smooth and their platform is very user friendly. They will send you a prepaid insured Fedex overnight label if you want. You can view your auction submissions online under your account and submit edit requests few days before the auction begins. Payout is via Check (Free)/ACH transfer (Free)/Wire ($25 fee) around the middle of the following month (on Wednesdays). I chose PWCC because I do not have the patience to list 350 cards myself and I also do not want to deal with scammers, lowball offers and returns. My experience has been positive overall. I prefer Goldin for rare and high end cards (worth >$50K).

Surprised no one has said this and apologize if someone did and I missed it. PWCC is an absolute disaster from a seller standpoint when it comes to actually getting paid. The buyer has WAY too much leeway on payment and it’s cost me over $50k in the last few months.

Here’s how it works…

PWCC list your card in the first round of the month, lets assume your card sells on August 14th. The buyer has until September 10th-ish to pay for the card, an absolute worst case scenario for when the market was in free fall earlier this year. I had 20 auctions go unpaid because people were gaming the system and PWCC lets it happen.

Just be careful when listing something of high value with them. people will also create fake eBay accounts and buy your card at a high price to inflate the value of the same card if they have it and as stated above people will make fake accounts to buy a card and hope it appreciates over the month, if it does they pay and if not, no skin off their back.

Edit: they also claim to chase down non paying buyers with tons of calls and emails, emails directly to the buyer. I went ahead and “bought” one of my own cards to see it, not one personal email. I got a few automated messages from the system asking me to pay but that was it, not one direct note and no phone call, nothing.

Really? Geez, I’ve always been paid out by PWCC very quickly. To me, that has actually been the best part about consigning with them.

Surprised to hear that, their monthly auctions run the way I described for payouts. If you have buy it now then buyers have 10 days to pay but if they pay right away PWCC should release funds quick.

Do you have a lot of experience consigning to auction houses? I have consigned with most major auction houses for many years. It’s not unusual to wait 6-8 weeks for payment. With PWCC, you know exactly when the check is going out. I like this because there is no wondering when payment will come, and there is no need to call/email the auction house after several weeks have passed in order to find out where the heck your payment is.
