That 8.5 would be a "new" card which would mean someone would have had to break the card out and re-sub (a million dollar risk). Of course, when you're talking this kind of money, PWCC, Probstein, Goldin -all those guys have connections with both grading companies and can do whatever they want basically. Anonymity goes out the door at that point.
The Date Graded would change for a bump.

I have seen cards get new serial numbers after being bumped, although maybe that was just because they were already outed as trimmed.

Interested. So they would either need to delete the original BGS entry or else the pop report would be skewed.

This story is confusing AF. But I think I got it.

1. PWCC brokers the sale for the Brady Championship Ticket BGS 8 Probstein had up on his site.

2. PWCC never has the card in their possession in Oregon so they don't have it digitally inventoried.

3. They are unhappy that they don't have a quality photo they will need to do a mock-up advertisement for the press, so...

4. They photoshop the BGS 8 flip from the actual card (most likely using Probstein's image) onto an image they have in their files from their January 24th, 2019 sale of a BGS 8 Brady Championship Ticket.

I think that's where we're at.

Oh, and the owner may or may not have just gotten it bumped to a BGS 8.5.....

I have had nothing but a positive experience working with PWCC. It seems odd.

I think this is an accurate summary. Solid.

Adding to the confusion and misinformation, in the two updates today; PWCC isn't even consistent with that aspect of the story. Maybe it's incorrect quoting but ignoring the decision to create the Frankenstein Brady image for promoting the transaction, PWCC just seems to always struggle, being honest.

The previously mentioned PWCC Instagram update.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CMCwn9dn..._web_copy_link

"It was only in our possession for a short period, and because it was sold privately, it didn’t go through our typical imaging process."

From the Darren Rovell article, Probstein123 (his consignor) and PWCC (Jesse Craig) both mention having shipped the card.

Jesse Craig:
"the card was sent directly to Park" - This implies the card went from Probstein123 to the buyer, without PWCC ever in possession.

“We shipped James the card two weeks ago” - This implies that PWCC received the Probstein123 shipment and PWCC shipped the card to their buyer.

That was never going to happen. They’re publicity hounds - zero chance they’d pass up a shot like that.

When you’re involved in deception, even the truth feels like a lie.

I could understand this for a mid level card but when you are talking about a card that is a million+ then it is ridiculous to think they just simply took a short cut. This had to be calculated and should be considered fraud. Considering this is a million dollar collectible it should be treated at the highest level.

There’s most likely a ton of money laundering going on in the top 5% of transactions just like the high end art community. That luka logoman 4 million dollar sale the other day was extremely blatant.
