Will be following this adventure. Years ago I was lucky enough to find 19 5000 ct. boxes from a local thrift store. Had F. Thomas rookies, a 89 UD Griffey, Brees,Moss RC's. Lots of #ed,Chrome,Sosa,Thome RC's. Maddux etc. $5.00 a box. The ct. box empty is a $4-5 value alone.

- There are also the red ultra parallels that were pretty cool.
- Found a 04-05 Credentials of Donta Smith, haha.
- The Anfernee Hardaway Masters of the Hardwood might be my favorite card of the group

Loving this thread. Seeing those Warp Speeds hit me right in the nostalgias

Complete Sets:

00-01 SP Authentic Base Set
02-03 UD Authentics (w/ Kobe & Jordan)
98-99 Fleer Tradition (w/ Kobe & Jordan)

Everything else is partial sets and random groups of sets pictured. The black felt surface I am taking pictures on is starting to get disgusting with dust, haha.

You are some warrior, chewing through these boxes at the rate you're going - AND organizing everything as you go! It's already easy to see why others didn't take more time with it all.

This is a very enjoyable follow, and I hope you're still having fun going through the boxes. Sorry to hear about the amount of bricked cards you're encountering, but still seems like a pretty decent amount of the cards are in good shape.

Can you go wrong with ANY of the inaugural Z-Force Inserts? I think not.

Did you spy the quirky but neat Nemesis Penny/Kenny he showed on the other page... I'm sure you've got that one already.

Its funny how mid to late 90's cards shine out in group pictures.

Thanks Steve, you have a PM coming in. I'm sure you alrready have the card, but I figured I'd ask!

I am very quickly going through things. I just check to see if a set is even close to complete. If it is, it goes in a "keep box" if it is not, it goes in a "sort" box for later because I encounter the same sets in different boxes. So, if it isn't complete now, I might find some of the missing cards at a later point.

Thanks, I'll admit that I got a bit fatigued and discouraged last night, but getting a good night sleep really help reinvigorate me. It is a LOT of work, but I need to remind myself to take a break today so I don't get burned out again.

Yeah, some of the mid-00's inserts I see are so forgettable it is hilarious. I just think "you can do better [insert company name here]" haha.

Fleer's inserts fell off a cliff after 2000-01. I think they stopped using Arena Design (a must-follow on Instagram!) around that time

New box - baseball

I didn't bother going thrrough things, but just grouped them by set and will sort them later. There are a couple cool inserts. The e-x cards are all yellow unfortunately. The Pacific Revolution cards are pretty sick in person. I think that would be a badass set for Panini to use for Revolution Basketball in the future!

True story! Most parallels for 2001-02 and on, barely looked different than the base versions, and inserts themselves became rare - as in it seems like there weren't nearly as many different insert sets produced. Most of those that did show up were pretty poorly designed overall, but some of them are incredibly difficult to hunt down, uninspiring as they might be, haha.

That Arena Design has some pretty cool sets to boast about! Thanks for sharing the IG!

New box - 96-97 Topps showing - hopefully some stars are still left!

I need that TSC X-2, lol.
Really enjoyable read. Thanks!
Did you find any Electric Court Gold in your UD SE stash?

For the 93-94 sets, did you find any electric court or gold? First day issue? The electric court should be in there at a decent clip given hit rate. If not, the parallels may all be together in a different box or picked out already

The Vin Baker? I'll send it to you free via PWE if you don't mind. Or I could just save it for later if you see anything else you might need. Let me know!

No Electric Court gold in that big stack...

Great box IMO - Tons of 96-97 Topps star base (each stack is ~ 5-15 base cards of each player)

- One complete base set of 98-99 Black Diamond (Keeping) with a second missing only one card and a ton of dupes.
- Whole bunch of Black Diamond Parallels /3000 (Red) and /1500 (Gold)
- Another cool find in the 98-99 Paul Pierce Diamond Dominance #'d Rookie /1000
- More cool low-end insert set fillers (with some great players to boot!)

Hal,

you have the patience of a Buddhist Monk. i bought someones collection on ebay for about $550 last week. It was probably 200+ cards, i could pick out 6 cards that would pay for the lot, and the rest was gravy, and some really quality stuff, it was a fantastic lot. it took me an hour to go through everything and see what was comc worthy or not....this hour was exhausting to me, i couldnt even imagine what you're going through...sweet pierce btw!

Those Black Diamond parallels look cooler than I would have guessed, all splayed out like that in their red and gold glory.

Nick,

You get the most insane steals, haha. You must put in time scouring eBay, haha. The is definitely less "labor intensive" than what I'm doing though. I always envy your posts. Thanks for checking the thread out!

If they had holographic foil it would be game over!

Next box - 01-02 Topps Heritage showing, with some chrome cards!
