Jesus Christ on a crutch, Topps is up to 56 variations?!?! I remember thinking 2010 Bowman was getting out of hand with Chrome-Base Ref-Purple Ref-Blue Ref-Gold Ref-Orange Ref-Red Ref-Superfractor, plus the base paper and Gold-Blue-Orange-Red paper along with the Black Border Redemption... that was 14 variations between chrome and paper, and I thought that was overkill.

Looks like that picture represents at least 7 different products + factory set variations which use the same photo. It’s an awesome collection of that photo.

Yes, it’s every product I could find with that image. A bit absurd really. I had no idea there were this many when I started. Here’s the full list, not counting plates:

I completed my “2001 Ichiro Suzuki Base Rookie Card Set”

I also completed my “2009 & 2011 Mike Trout Set”

This thread is crazy cool. Especially the Mets. It makes me want to narrow my focus even more.

Not complete yet but I'm getting close! Shooting for all the HOFers. Then I'll get them all uniformly graded and put in a case:

Missing only the few low numbered and common refractors. Probably wont be able to find the super or other 1 of 1.

You should be happy to know that Marquez does not have a clear /10 in 2019, so you're done! German's only clear is of his 2017 series 2 RC.

Whoa...that would be awesome!

How did you figure out he doesn’t have one? I thought all base cards had that variation

Going for the Deivi Bowman 2020 rainbow. Got everything besides reds, 1/1s and Gold 1st edition.

The Clear /10 parallel became a thing in 2014 Topps. The year before that Topps did a Silver Slate parallel /10. No Silver Slates in 2013 Update, just the entire 2013 Topps run. I like to refer to the 2013 Silver Slates as precursors to the Clears. I'm pretty sure Silver Slates were only available via a wrapper redemption, and Clears have always been pack pulled from hobby packs only.

The entire run of 2014 Topps / 2014 Topps Update and 2015 Topps / 2015 Topps Update had Clears /10. The entire run of 2016 Topps also had Clears, but 2016 Topps Update did not have any. Starting in 2017, Topps starting limiting the Clears to the top 100 stars and RCs per series.

This was a project I did not think I could complete. Very difficult to get all 4 printing plates in itself, got lucky and was able to do it in a few months upon release. One literally pulled from an LCS two boxes before me lol.

I still am working on plenty of other plate sets, but this is the only one I've completed.

Great stuff everyone. Not the lovely modern rainbows and runs most have posted here, but here’s one of the runs I’m working on. Still a ways to go though.

Topps will not be out done, I am tracking the parallels for 2020 Walker Buehler they are up to 58 (not inc. printing plates, not inc. autos)

Opening Day (5)
Series 2 (15)
Factory Set (7)
Chrome (19)
Ben Baller Chrome (7)
Chrome Sapphire (5)

edit: i forgot the clear parallel in Series 2.

Awesome collection. I never knew Topps used the same photo for Mays in the '65 and '68 cards.

It's not complete since Ill probably never find the Super or plates, much less afford them....

So this is the best I got for baseball, or any except my 2012 Jared Allen Topps Chorme, which is 13 cards minus the 1/1s. Same thing applies....

I actually still need the base card haha. This set was given to me for free, actually. Amazing.

Still haven't seen the Superfractor pop up, but finished the paper rainbow. Have one plate, wasn't chasing them though. Have all the Chrome but the super.

Thanks! Yep. And the 1966 and 69 (not pictured) use the same photo as well, with a slight zoom in on the 69. And of course the same headshot on 54, 55, and 56, which is kind of a bummer to me since those designs are some of the most iconic in the hobby, it would be nice to see three distinct Mays cards from that era.
