This one finally came in ... pop 17 ... and I paid less than the current going rate on an Ichiro Ben baller (I have one ending tonight with probstein)

General opinion question.

How much would you peg a ichiro SP Authentic Future Watch Gold /50 PSA 10 to be valued? It's very clearly 25x rarer than the base /1250 that has shot up to 2-3k, but print run doesn't always translate to multiple values (see trout us175 base vs parallels). Just curious what you guys thought.

Amazing to see how Ichiro prices have boomed. Were stagnant for years. I bought a gold refractor bowman chrome in 2014 and basically sold at the same price five years later. I’ve been to the National a few times and there’s literally never been an Ichiro market.

Cool to see though will post a few of my cards later

No chance. It was at 4k at the height of Project 2020 madness no way it reaches that again post Shore troll Griffey crash. The hypebeasts and sneakerheads and investors have pretty much jumped ship. Can't see it going back much over 1k if all that is left is baseball and art enthusiasts.

Bought this as a redemption back in 2016 because I wanted a nice patch auto of Ichi. Topps did me a solid and I couldn't be happier with the patch they decided to send me.

P2020 has been nuts! The Baller Ichiro now sells for $1,400-$1,500. The highest it ever sold at auction was $4,444. After the whole Shore Griffey thing happened, ALL P2020 cards took a massive dump. Clectors did it to themselves.

Some great cards in here, not really an Ichiro collector but have always been a fan since the beginning. I was in Japan in 2001 and it was such a big deal, I remember the national television networks cutting to his at bats regardless of what time it was.

History tidbit, Masanori Murakami was the first Japanese player to play in the United States due to unusual contract issues with the Japanese league in 1964. It would be 31 years with Hideo Nomo before another Japanese player would play in the US again.

Love this thread! I’ve been almost exclusively focused on Flagship Gold for Ichiro and seeing all the variety of cards here is great!

I am not an Ichiro collector but I pulled the Ichiro / Shinjo dual relic card out of a box of 2001 SP Authentic back when it first released.

I ended up trading it for who in the hell knows what for. To this day, it's my biggest trading regret. I'd love to have that card back...
