Just an incredible card. Congrats on that pick up. That is a dream card for the Topps Chrome Refractor PC project I am working on. Someday, I will grab that card (probably not in that grade), but it will have to wait until my budget increases. In the meantime, I haven't seen anyone else share other TC Refractors, so this is what I have so far in my run. If anyone has a card from one of the years I am missing, hit me up.

Nothing more plebeian and wretched than 97/98 Ultra.

This thread is kind of making me sad. I enjoy seeing so many other's great collections but then makes me miss my large Kobe and Shaq collection I sold off back in 2006 when went through some rougher times. If I could go back and change that decision I would.

I had over $10,000 book value in Kobe alone and Shaq I don't even know as was my largest PC and collected him since he was a rookie. Had I think every standard Kobe rookie (2 chromes at one point) and quite a few parallels such as Finest refractor, Fleer Ultra gold and many others. Not to mention the jersey and auto cards. Also had an authenticated autographed basketball and a photo from the slam dunk contest he won I think it was.

Those early Fleer Ultra Gold cards are really underrated, imo. Some of them have really tough odds. I picked this up for $40 and thought it was a steal:

I don't understand why gem Topps Draft Redemptions are selling so high. You can get them for less than $100 raw and they're not a super tough grade yet they're going for well over $800 on the regular and now over $900.

I've never bought a Bryant card, the ones i have are ones i've pulled admittedly, not any time recently.....As a Blazers fan, I do admit to liking Kobe more now that he has retired These and everything else non Damon Stoudamire reside in my "Trade these for DS I need" folder.

Man, just reading this is painful. I had to sell some cards too. Luckily my Kobes and Shaqs were saved, but I had nowhere near that kind of value in them.

Me too. Prior to TC, Finest was the go to RC for a little while. Greening is more rampant because TC changes hand more often and they get exposed to temperature fluctuation during shipping which accelerates greening.

That card is awesome. Congrats!!

That was THE CARD of the 90's and I remember the craze for Chrome when those first came out and IMO that card is one of the top basketball cards of all time.

Yeah, sorry for both of us bringing up the pain. I did keep my large White Sox and Frank Thomas collection though so at least have something left. I am now growing that as baseball is my favorite sport and was what I collected first plus the White Sox have some good young talent worth collecting currently.

There's gonna be a Metal Universe Championship PMG up in this month's PWCC auctions. Graded an 8.5 in August by BGS. I know the Red/Green in the regular Metal are more revered but I always liked the look of this set better.
