But it seems like you guys both think the lakers could end up with AD and also sign Kyrie/Butler/Kemba and have a big 3 that on paper is better then the Warriors originally big 3.

I agree it’s possible they can have big 3 but LeBron is getting old and was hurt this year. AD he’s always hurt. Butler has a lot of miles.

They could get it and be great or they could end up with a big 3 that instead of butler is Kemba and Kemba can’t take 4 scrubs to playoffs If leBron and AD are hurt.

If they can get AD the better approach may be to get complimentary players- shooters, defensive specialists ect.

Unless the third guy is Kawhi which is doubtful. Having more depth would be smarter move.

Do they have a bench or is everone playing 40 minutes? You need more than just a big 3. GS has green and igudala and bench. Lakers will have...lance stephenson? And no picks .

Wait a year and just sign the dude. If he really really wants to come to LA he will, unless people honestly believe theyres a title chance next year (i dont).

At this point I think they will do it....

Kemba-Lonzo-LeBron-Kuzma-AD is a nice lineup... I think that'll be how it shakes out.

BI, Hart, #4 to the Pels...unless they get another team involved, then I'm guessing Lonzo will be gone.

Im actually a little mad at Jason for being "meh" on Lebron.

...Do I need to remind you of 2016?

Yes, I think he misunderstood me. I believe we both think it would be easy for them to end up with a big 3. I think he thought I meant that getting a big 3 was unrealistic, but I was arguing the opposite.

And yes, injuries would be a factor with that group, but if they're healthy, they would definitely be more stacked than GS ever was.

LOL at guy on twitter who said Cavs should be part of AD trade with Cavs sending Love, Ingram, Ball to NO and Cavs getting the #4 pick and LA getting AD.

Why would NO want a player who's body is breaking down and owed $120 million? NO could end up getting Ingram Ball and Kuzma who is better and cheaper then Love and get the #4 pick for themselves.

NO already has 2 pf's better than Love, Zion and Randle.

I’ve scrolled through this thread. There’s a lot of talk about adding AD plus a max. If the equation is LBJ+AD+a max player assuming the young guys and draft picks are off to NO then I’d be more interested in Jimmy Butler over Kyrie or Kemba. Add a Rondo type point guard and bring in B. Lopez to share the 5 with AD and let him rotate to the 4 for periods. Get one of the Morris brothers to be the 6th man off the bench as they can play the 3&4.

That’s a legit championship contender IMO. Using the max slot on a point guard limits the roster flexibility as the ball needs to flow through LeBron for the team to be most effective. Plus Butler would be a significant defensive upgrade over either of those guards. If you’re going to spend the max on the 3rd piece in a big 3 then get a 2-way player who can score with the best of them when needed.

As a Celtics fan I actually hope the C’s don’t land AD. He doesn’t want to be here so I think the team needs to continue to build with the young guys. I’d actually love to see them trade for Capella of Horford wants out.

I think that ends up happening if they can find someone to take Ball. Griffin doesn’t want him.
Just to piss daddy off.... I'd love for Ball to end up in Memphis or Minnesota. Mostly Memphis. I'd love for him to go a non major city or historic franchise.

Yep, Kyrie is a weird guy. When he was with LeBron he acts jealous that he doesn't get the attention LeBron gets. Then he goes to Boston and says he hates the constant cameras in his face and journalist following around all the time and just wants to play basketball.

Who knows maybe he got it out of his system. Maybe now he knows more what he really wants. Could have been part of being young and growing up.

Kyrie signing with Roc Nation agency pretty much guarantees he's going to Bkln. I haven't heard a single credible source saying anything otherwise over the past several days.

Quote:
According to a source with ties to Roc Nation, the organization expected to become Irving’s new representative, the All-Star point guard is prepared to sign with the Brooklyn Nets when he becomes a free agent next month. A separate league source told the Herald that his team (not the Celtics) has received the same information and is operating under the belief that Irving wants to join the Nets.

May be a blessing in disguise if he goes to Brooklyn. They have basically the same offensive system as Boston that's built on good ball movement and scoring balance. I'd give it about 3 months before he becomes insufferable all over again.

Because they think they can sign him to a long term contract contrary to everything that has been said about him leaving after one season.

Boston getting AD also screws with the Lakers for another season.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking. The grass isn’t always greener, and I’m pretty sure he understands that now.

Lakers are going to be for real again. Here’s to the 19-20 season.

If Brandon Ingram doesn't die on the court when traded and the lakers never win a title with AD .. There worst mistake will be trading Ingram.. Js.. That's my thought. But I would take that risk to pair Ad with Lebum

Horford wants out if Kyrie is back, so I do not think that will be an issue.

I think LA will land Davis at this point. Obviously the Celtics can get him but not sure Ainge is going to throw Tatum into the deal. At this point he is just making the price as high as possible for others.
