Yeah, you did OP dirty and everyone defending you is a clown. No excuse for you to undercut someone because they were able to get a deal before you did.

If you woulda saw the card first, you would not have send a message asking them to raise their price. You woulda hit that BIN and made a thread about it when you got it in hand.

Your grammar and business acumen have lead me to the conclusion that you, sir, are not a real doctor.

And you don't even care about the seller who reneged, in your own words??? And you're only going after phdbeckett because he's a BO member and BO members should be honorable but it doesn't matter what eBay members are like? Give me a break. BO community is like any other community. For you to say along the lines of "I don't need any more clarification and I don't need to contact anyone else other than this sketchy seller's side of the story to confirm my belief and accusation" is beyond me. Seriously?

And you got to be kidding me. When did I say anything to the contrary of "Honor the sale."? I've said from the beginning the seller is in the wrong for not honoring the sale.

If you care about honoring sales, go after the seller who admitted to the wrong. And then, if he sends you screenshots of eBay messages from phdbeckett, only then proceed to blast out phdbeckett. Got it? Smh. When you posted your original post, you had no screenshot or proof of phdbeckett's messages.
I think your clock is a little slow.

?????

You've got to be kidding with this witchhunt.
All phdbeckett said was along the lines of "Wow, I wish I saw this and hadn't missed out. That was a great deal. Let me know if deal falls through."

How many times have you seen this at the B/S/T thread where some member posted "That's a steal, congrats. OP, let me know if deal falls through."? If phdbeckett tried to talk seller out of deal and convince him to cancel deal, I agree he was in the wrong. But here? For saying "Let me know if deal falls through because BUYER BACKS OUT"? Give me a break.

Douchebag move by PhDbeckett...
And he says “I did not offer to buy the card”...what about when he writes “let me know if the buyer backs out”??? Why would the buyer back out of a BIN??? Telling the seller the card is worth 5x and saying “‘lemme know if the buyer back out” is 100% offering to buy the card

Nope, OP posted his first post calling out before he had any contact with phdbeckett.

Also, while I was writing that post, it took some time.

Rofl

"He did not offer it to me, nor did I offer to buy it. An subsequently I have not or will not buy it."

In the screenshot- "Let me know if the buyer backs out..."

What's that supposed to mean?

If you could kindly remove yourself from this thread, I think it would be helpful. I know Community College Beckett likes you in here, because you are a useful distraction, but I think it would be to your benefit. God bless.

Couldn’t I message every seller of an item I’d like and say “jeez, I would have paid a lot more. Let me know if the deal falls through.” Would that be acceptable?

Seriously it's not hard to read between the lines

He mentions how he could've gotten more and then adds the "let me know if the buyer backs out" basically giving the guy the idea to cancel the transaction. Also like many said, how do you explain "let me know if the seller backs out" with "i have no intentions of buying the card?"

I would, if you would care to actually respond to any of my arguments. But all you're saying is "You're wrong" without explaining. So here you go:

You don't agree with which of the below:

1. For saying the seller is wrong
2. For saying phdbeckett is wrong if he convinced seller to cancel deal
3. For saying always hear both sides of the story before making accusations

You just keep going, don't you...

If phdbeckett was less of a jerk, he might have let there be a few days pass so the transaction could have been completed. Had he messaged after, say, the typical time for a non-payment case to be required, then it might be a bit better and he might have been able to buy it if the buyer backed out.
Instead he stiffed him. And it's shameful.
And your white knighting is also shameful.

Big difference IMO between "Aw shucks! Wish I saw this!" And "Aw shucks wish I saw this, by the way you sold it WAY too low. BTW hit me up if it 'falls through'."

The latter is setting the stage for sabotaging another collector's good deal.

Onus on selling price is on the seller to research. I bet every dang person in here would be furious if someone pm'd every seller they ever bought from that didn't know what they had or were selling at a bargain price.

Or do we expect Phd would have said jack squat about this card if he saw it and pulled the trigger first? Get real. He would have bought it and left the seller in the wind.
