Personally...I think a good way to address the current state at the national would be to compile a list of all known shady dealers/doctors/alterers that will be at the national.

Create a list with photos of the culprits if possible and make copies of this and hand out to as many participants as possible.

WARNING...AVOID THE FOLLOWING DEALERS AS THEY HAVE BEEN PROVEN/SHOWN TO PRACTICE SHADY/UNETHICAL DEALINGS IN THE HOBBY.

I think this would affect these peoples bottom line to a degree.

"Trimmer", or "guaranteed PSA 10 list"?

The back has a list of the people who are named with a check mark box when/if confronted. Something like this

IMO putting peoples names on a shirt constitutes being a rat, fink or narc.

Subtle punches of what is going on in the industry is my preferred route.

Clearly we need a new grading company setup to authenticate authenticated cards.

What the hobby really needs right now is an insider that is willing to spill the beans. Somebody willing to do some undercover work from the inside. Find a way to get to know some employees of these companies, some real investigative journalism. It would only take one credible source from the inside to really bring down some federal heat.

I think Indysportscards may be onto something with that suggestion. Just like Topps starting putting little hologram stickers on their memorabilia hits authenticating the actual game day the jersey swatch has come from. There will be a market for an authentication of graded cards, showing provenance and tracking of past sales. Kind of like the Carfax of sportscards. Especially with high end graded

Each dealer should have a large whiteboard with the names and pictures of trimmers.. Better yet it would be great it someone handed out a flyer about the issue and who the real culprits are... Better to inform the public,,,,

Fantastic idea!

Names and faces are key. Inform the public and the dealers at the same time. Low cost and very effective way to get the word out.

Would need a web address on the flyer as well, pointing to a web page with clearly presented, documented examples for each of the accused.

If someone has some decent AV/camera stuff I would be down to be the investigative reporter type dude putting a microphone in peoples faces. The T-shirt thing is too passive aggressive, let’s make people uncomfortable

My ideas for t-shirts would be the following:
1) Roy Scheider (from JAWS) tossing a net and saying "We're gonna need a bigger jail!" with the names of all the scammers (including Brent Huigens from PWCC) in the water below

2) Picture of a bed with a male figure and an X-acto knife peeking out from the covers and the phrase "In bed with the trimmers?" along with their names arrayed in the bedsheets.

It's just offsetting the price I would normally spend on trimmed/fake slabs and turn that into $50/hr security guards.

On a serious side, Chicago is kind of a museum - show off - nobody really wants to sell anything show. Which is fine. Although the guy in the back corner with .10 cent serial numbered cards is a must look.

Yes, I will be looking to embarrass and shame any trimmer/scammer and their enablers. Nobody has to click and/or watch if they don't want to. This is fun for me, not how I feed my family or buy my slabbed pictures of men.

From their website as of 11:35 am today:

"Announcing that PWCC Capital is actively raising funds! Registered members of PWCC may inquire about purchasing a PWCC Capital Note yielding an interest rate of up to 9% APR depending on the note amount. Notes will be sold on a first come, first served basis and a limited amount of notes will be sold. These funds are used by PWCC Capital to offer collateral-backed lending services. Contact PWCC Capital staff for more information.

...On-account funds may also be used to purchase a PWCC Note, which earns interest on a monthly basis. For more information, contact capital@pwccmarketplace.com or 503-680-2201."

Sounds like a potential securities fraud case.

Some lawyer would be more than happy to take 33% of the winnings for what seems like an easy win with all the evidence already provided for him, plus the ability to get testimony under oath in a deposition or trial. They've already admitted guilt with their largest consignor.

I would be careful using other company’s trademarked logos to advertise your podcast.
