True but if a team feels like talks ain’t going anywhere and the player is set on testing FA, a trade could happen anytime from now to the trade deadline. That team (Rockies) might as well get something for him then.

Looking forward to the FA season as usual, but after a couple of huge names, this really isn't a great class. Harper, Machado, Donaldson, are the only bigger name bats and there's only a few solid mid tier guys like LeMahieu, Pollock, Brantley. As for pitching, there's Keuchel, Corbin, Morton (who all have some concerns) then it drops down to like Gio Gonzalez, Shields, and Lance Lynn? There are some good relievers out there, though

Twins have a ton of money available and a bunch of holes available as well. However, I think they're going to save a lot of that money for extensions to their youthful core. Berrios and Rosario could reasonably be extended at any time already. Buxton is someone who has underperformed so far (duh) but if the Twins think he'll turn it around, we could save a ton of money on him by locking him up early. Kepler, Garver, Polanco, Austin, and several others are guys that could also get extensions sometime in the next few years

As for free agents, they won't be signing a Harper, Machado, etc. Nor should they. 2nd base is one of our bigger holes right now and I think they address that with a short term deal to Lowrie, Asdrubal, Kinsler, or Forsythe. Not sexy, but Lowrie in particular plays better than people realize and would be a nice bridge until Royce is up and Polanco shifts to second. Other big hole in the infield right now is 3rd, which I have no idea what they'll do with, particularly with Esco already signed with Arizona. No real reason to do anything too drastic there either as there's not many great options there

Starters, we could definitely use someone, but I'd rather wait and try to trade for someone later on instead. Corbin, Keuchel, Morton all have a good bit of risk and the Twins aren't a team that can afford to pay up for one of them and have it blow up in their face. Plus our rotation is actually pretty decent and fairly crowded already

RPs is where we could make a splash. Need a good bit of work, and there's a lot of good options there. No reason to go after Kimbrel, but I'd love to see us get Cody Allen, Kelvin Herrera, Brad Brach, Joe Kelly, or some combo of them. Pen could be pretty solid with a good signing or two

Kershaw should stay with the Dodgers.

2016 ROY Corey Seager returns at about $600K

2017 ROY Cody Bellinger will bounce back.

A good farm system with management willing to spend anything to win.

My best guess for the Yankees is that starting pitching is going to be focus number one, not Machado/Harper.

I would really like Patrick Corbin to pair with Luis Severino, righty/lefty. Severino, Tanaka, Corbin is a strong top 3. Jordan Montgomery eventually coming back. Wouldn't mind bringing JA Happ back either.

It just doesn't make sense to spend the big money on Machado/Harper to me. They have too much tied up in Stanton, and have big contracts coming real soon for players like Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Luis Severino not too mention just a few seasons before you need to lock down Gleyber/Andujar.

We really need to then focus on 1B, Luke Voit is nice but I doubt he's the long term answer. Greg Bird is obviously a non-factor and there is no one else on the farm for that position with Tyler Austin traded away.

Why would he get less money with the no trade clause? That makes doesn’t make sense.

I don’t think your ideas make sense.

It will be something in the ten year range around 400 mil but there will be at least 2 outs after 3 or 6th year, something like that.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't see them parting with Torres for one year guaranteed. If they want MadBum that bad they'd be wiser getting a lower name player signed this year, then unload cash on Bum after 2019. Still allows them to compete in 2019 and keep Torres.

Indians declined the $3 million option for Brandon Guyer today, meaning Greg Allen is literally the only healthy OF on the 40 man roster (along with Leonys Martin, Tyler Naquin, and Bradley Zimmer).

They're going to have to entirely rebuild both a bullpen and outfield in the offseason, something I have no faith in the organization doing. I hope I'm wrong, but I think after two pathetic postseason performances, the Indians window might've slammed shut.
