Dude, a couple days ago I missed out on his raw Court Masters. Guess how much I got outsniped by? One dollar.

Yea the label doesn't bother me, it's more the fact it's acetate. They're the kind of cards that are especially wack in a holder. I just wanted to make sure the thing wasn't scratched up and hidden in pics of an ungraded copy.
If you mean the scuff on it, yes that bothers me

Maybe it's just the LeBron/BNC thread getting to me, but I was looking at your images again and...forgive me...but I'm wondering if the card looks a little small in that case.

Congrats

What I find cool is that alot of the Penny cards you have been picking up lately are the same MJ inserts I first went after when I started collecting MJ again back in late 2011

This was def one of those cards. LOVE the design of 96 Ultra inserts and they bring back some of my favorite hobby memories busting tons of those packs back then

Love seeing your pickups

Don't apologize bmf.
I compared its size to other 97-98 Finest cards and they seem to match up, I think the fact the silver lays a bit cockeyed in the case gives the short impression. But if anyone else thinks that still doesn't account for its size, please let me know.

Black acetate on this looks great. Said it before but the Shaq starring role was my rarest pack pull when I was a kid so it's the one card i'll never get rid of.

It's a dark, navy type of blue but yea they're really slick. That's cool that you still have the Shaq, I've hung on to a lot of stuff I pulled back then myself. Can't put a price on nostalgia.

Got this in. Dat deep embossing...

Another crossed off my wantlist. Didn't realize until today when I got it in hand that they added Jordan to the label. Neato.

That is one mighty fine piece of acetate, great insert and congrats! Are you going to crack it out?

Lolol, yes, Fleer was clearly trying to send subliminal messages to my kids. Little do they know they grew up perfectly straight.

I actually planned on cracking the Titanium out before I noticed the inclusion of MJ's name on the label. Sort of a cool touch.

Sweet. The hits just keep on coming! Got a titanium on my want list as well but not having much luck over on the BST.

Also do you have a 96-97 game breakers too? I always wondered on the design of that card- it looks like a clear window down the full length of the card but they don't look acetate.

I too just picked up MJs Titanium 2 weeks ago Lol

I had Titanium on the backburner for a long time as it has a higher pop of Gems, but didnt want to wait any longer in light of the whole 97-98 MU craze after the Green PMG 350k sale and base card overnight surge

Sweet card with the MJ inclusive label even better

Great pickup

Thanks Rob. Have you tried Ebay recently? They were only 1:72 so I'm sure players from across the set pop up somewhat frequently.
Negative on the 96-97. I'm 90% sure the line down the middle is just a graphic design. If they were acetate that thing would def be on my wantlist too.

When I was still able to afford mj inserts his Titanium and 93 refractor were prob the next 2 I was about to go for. Waited a bit too long, ha. The MJ Titanium has the best picture in the set, hands down. Screw da pop reportz.

And here's my latest, just a superb action shot and the design speaks for itself. Someone mentioned on IG recently that these actually use a felt-like material on the "Superstar" lettering. I had no idea, makes me think of the Z-Force Fast Track set which was way more common but had the same felt lettering. Amazing how much info would be lost on some of these cards if you've never had any in hand.

Just in. Really happy with the auto, the ebay pic didn't have the best lighting so I took a bit of a gamble. Streak free. Success.

Really digging this thread. Pennys all look awesome and appreciate the finer details about each card/set being shared. Haven’t heard about greening effect of 93 refractors but always noticed it and wondered if it was intentional. Keep on sharing!

they are so so so pretty. I still get sad from time to time that I sold my Jordan, but I needed the money. I actually picked up a Penny at one point after just because I love the look

Totally missed this last update. Had no idea these had felt lettering either. Crazy amount of die cut on these too

I'll grab myself a Titanium at some point, I need to learn to be patient as I only have maybe 10 90s cards left on the wantlist then I might be done as the modern stuff doesn't really interest me.

Re: the 96 game breakers, I thought the break may have been see through. Maybe someone else reading this that owns one can clarify.

Love it. I remember busting packs of these at the time and thinking landing one of the autos was like lottery jackpot odds. Is this the centrepiece to your Penny PC?

Affirmative. These are printed on acetate and the break down the middle is see-through. Awesome cards.

Thanks man. I know I've essentially turned this into just a rolling Penny pickup thread, but this is another card that truly goes with the thread title.

Appreciate it. I'm still learning about things myself. And yea, unfortunately greening just becomes a bigger issue the more time passes. Some of the nicest cards ever produced are ruined. Really sucks.

I hear ya. I had an unpeeled mj 9.5 standard silver refractor /1090 I was forced to sell a while back. Just love the Creators theme.

It probably is. The funny thing about it is that I wasn't sure if it was from the legit, pack-pulled redemptions. I was ok with the list price even for a more generic, UD store version as long as the auto was in great shape. Apparently, in addition to different serials, the store version coa's are foldable, not card-sized.

These are the details wilmat52 was referring to. Like Rob I also had no idea they were acetate. *Adds to wantlist*
