Officials call a jump ball because they have no idea who it went out off. How could that ever be a jump ball??

It's Cliff Paul playing. He needs the glasses.

He most likely called it a jump, so they didn’t have to disprove a wrong call. Say jump ball and you can just review the play. Say Suns ball and now anything that isn’t conclusive is left as is.

Phoenix completely lucked out that they didn’t review that out of bounds play.

The best execution all night was P. George's two missed FT's.

Congrats, Suns.

PG with two of the best intentional misses at the line I’ve ever seen, and all for naught.

That makes sense - but doesn't there have to be an actual reason for a jump ball to call a jump ball?

Those were sweet misses. Not sure how they could have been executed better from his perspective. I liked the strategy that Monty Williams employed over the last few seconds. He had the confidence that his players could hit their free throws as well as the confidence that the Clips would miss some of theirs.

If they don't know who it went off of, they can call it a jump ball.

Baseline guy didn’t see it and sideline guy didn’t have a call. At that point you go with the jump to be safe and just review it as is on the tape.

Not sure why they fouled George so soon after the CP3 miss, and those last few moments were absolute non-basketball (but totally within the rules), glad the Suns won.

So it's basically a ref's timeout but called as a jump ball so they don't lose face? Did not know this prior to today.
