It is confirmed that in certain stores they opened to sell cards at 8am and at 8:30 am after the line was done they shut it down and told everyone after putting the cards in the back room to come back next Friday? I don’t get that policy but it’s either a free for all for the employees or they will continue to have more and more every Friday if they stop selling with lots of stock leftover? Why not just keep it out until it’s gone...drives people crazy when the manager readily admits there was plenty left but come back next week?

Thays doesn’t make sense.

I figured most places would put out by the evening what was left.

8 Targets in our region. Massive Select stock today of blasters (20+ each store), hangers (12+ each store) and cellos which seemed like 3 full boxes in each store. Never seen so much. Panini must’ve printed it to the moon.

Prizm much less plentiful especially on blasters. A lot of cellos tho.

No megas of anything.

Don't make your mom experience waiting in-line for something that can take hours. Your mom hanging with grown men, or kid adults.

Dude take a chill pill. His mom offered to do it for him, he didn't force her to do it. It's called having parents that care about you, it was his mothers choice. Don't belittle him like you're a saint.

10 posts and you've used the word belittle in 20% of them, odd. Also got mad no one would answer a question for you that is most certainly answered in the provided thread, you are going to make a lot of friends on here...

I'm not a flipper.... I hate what's going on with retail as much as the next person. I miss being able to go out and buy tons of hot corner boxes because I had fun opening them, not because I cared about value. It's about collecting for me, and if someones mom OFFERS to do something like that, knowing what OFFERING that means, then let them be. That is a truly loving parent. Why do you throw around insults here on BO like that? It's truly heartbreaking, the hostility of this forum sometimes. I wasn't a member on BO for the longest time, I've been active on the baseball card sub for about 2-3 years.

But I'm a flipper I guess.... if I'm a flipper, explain my huge JBJ collection? I'm definitely not going to be trying to flip Jackie Bradley Jr. LMAO

I don't think its worth it. I personally quit bothering going out for retail.

You have that wrong. I did not get mad about it, I got upset because I believed someone was calling me lazy for not reading through 85 pages of a thread.

I mean, I definitely agree with the sentiment that it isn't worth it for her to stand in line for hours, and I told her thank you but please don't worry about doing it again. She made it sound like the line was already moving when she hopped in, and they called up everyone who wasn't waiting for Pokemon and gave them first pick. I think all told it took her 15 minutes. They had no baseball and she finished her shopping and left. It was kind of her to do, but yeah, I definitely told her not to worry about it next time.

All things considered, she offered and I said sure, so long as the line isn't bad. She was through in 15 minutes, and called me afterwards laughing about the fight. I appreciate that she cares, but you guys are right that it isn't worth having my mom wait in line. Both things can be true: my mom can be a cool parent just trying to help me out since she was there anyway, and also I should have told her not to worry about it. Lesson learned.

It's all good. As your parents age, it'll become more clear.

But when they offer to do unnecessary crap like this for you (and yes, it is a loving gesture), this is when you tell them, "thanks, appreciate it ma, but don't worry about it."

That is a good way of thinking about it. Thank you for making it clear like that for me.

Me again, as it's my mom in question here. You're right, and I did tell her not to do it again. I got excited thinking maybe I'd get some Bowman and said sure. I should have said no thanks. My mom is 59 and still running 5-10 miles a day, so she's pretty hardy, but I agree with you that it isn't worth it for a box of cards. Next time I'll decline.

My mom lives in podunkville with a Walmart nearby.

She's asked a number of times if she wants me to go look for cards and I've told her no due to all the stories on here.

She still goes, she's a grown ass adult, I can't make her not go.
She says she enjoys the thrill of the hunt....

As for today, went into my local Target at around 1130 to grab a birthday card.
Didn't bother looking at CS, but there was a TON of heritage hangers and packs in the regular section...

LOL - How about some people here mind their own business on family matters of others. The guys original post was to point out something that happened at his local Target. The fact that it was mom witnessing it isn't mine, yours, or anyone's business.

If his mom was at Target and wants to look for cards why on earth do you care? Take care of yourself and your family. Let this family do what they want as it has literally 0 impact on you.

For the record - my mom is dead before anyone asks if I'd let my mom go in to a Target for me

Got off work early today and stopped at a target on my route home. Card section had a sign to go to CS for cards.
At CS, there was a 1 item per person sign. Asked the girl what was left, and she had a yugioh tin, UD hockey series 2 tin, MLS blaster box, and select fat pack.

I bought the select, and wonder why 15 cards is $9.99?!

Also of note, there was a lot of Pokémon in the card section. Mostly booster packs.

Completely asinine. They are trying to kill the hobby.

Can we just hear about the fight? That's what most of us come here for.
