I think Soto has a very good chance to be an iconic player in the coming years, and I think the demand will be there for his cards, like the demand for Trout.

But I don't think a direct price comparison between US175 and US300/HMT55 will ever be exactly fair, given the huge difference in supply.

Adding on to the nice write up above.

Trout has been the best player in MLB for a decade and has 3 MVPs through his age 28 season. Soto, while having the potential to overtake Trout as the best player in baseball, has no MVPs to date, and is only 2.5 years into his career. Soto will also have to compete with Acuna, Betts, and Tatis for MVP whereas Trout is still front runner for MVP in AL.

It's not an apples to apples comparison at all.

To be clear, I think what matters is not the gem rate, but the total quantity of gem mint cards. It matters how many more are out there like the one you have.

In Trout's case, there are 5157 PSA 10s out there. In Soto's case, there are 23,154 PSA 10s out there, when you include both versions of the card.

My point is, there are way more US300 and HMT55 RCs to meet collector demand than there are US175s. Four to five times as many in PSA 10. So, if you're having a discussion about the difference in value between US300/HMT55 and US175, that massive difference in supply is relevant to the discussion.

If they let you buy and sell with Bitcoin, they might be on to something. I have to confess I don't really understand what they're doing. It's like eTopps, but I can't have the card shipped. But they say it really exists in a vault. Uh...okay.

Amazing timing—I just bought it.

I was trying to figure out how I wanted to use my ebay bucks, debating between a card that could be completely covered by the bucks or just putting the bucks toward this Soto. Glad I didn’t debate any longer!

So glad ya got it! It an awesome card for sure! If I had the money today I would have swept it up. Alas, someone here got it and that’s just as good!
