Depending on what we get in return for Flaherty and/or Skubal and anyone else, I’d consider trying to get Brent Rooker from Oakland, but I have no idea what it would take to land him.

The pitching cupboard is so bare in Toledo right now I think they may have to keep Flaherty. No one wants another Randy Wolf August & September.

I don’t know how much value Flaherty might have right now with the erratic availability. Some PTBNLs for sure, but much else? Gamble for a team requesting his next 2 months.

I personally would just hold him and give him the QO. I think he would accept it and you make him prove himself again.

I'd likely want to go this route. And if he doesn't accept the QO, they get a compensatory pick.

Well Tork finally got another HR in Toledo, but is batting .230, with a ton of strikeouts. I hate to say it, but he looks broken.

Given his age I tend to think if the team thought he was good he'd be up by now. Just my opinion.

I think he will be up next Wednesday.

Also heard Dickerson mention that @ OSU he converted to Catcher from being a Center Fielder. That should make for a pretty athletic Catcher.

Totally plausible. After the deadline though, why not give him a shot like Malloy?

As far as catchers hitting, Rogers/Kelly have been fine but neither is Mike Piazza. 14 HRs between them and on pace for 20+. I look at hitting catchers as a complete bonus. Give Dingler a sustained look and see if there's any found money with him.

I’m not seeing Skubal getting traded with Baltimore out of the picture. Without Baltimore to drive the prices up on other teams, there won’t be enough of a return on him. Flaherty might even stay with a compensation pick. I saw someone post somewhere a dream of Skubal, Flaherty, Olson, & Jobe.

Baltimore's goofy if Eflin is their big move but Elias has the rep of a prospect hoarder.

I don't know why they aren't dangling Holliday out there for everyone. They already have an MVP candidate at short and Jordan Westburg is a really good 3B. They can't put 13 guys in the field.

This is gonna be a fun team next year.

If only Javy Bozo had started the season like this or maintained some semblance of decent play. Might have been able to finally dump him at the deadline.

Today is their third bullpen game in the last six. I don't see how they can trade Flaherty unless they get a crazy high prospect. This team needs more starters. For all the talk about Jackson Jobe, he's thrown 47 innings this season. There's just no way anyone can pencil him in as a long-term starter next year.
