I mean update is the most likely scenario right? But if the Royals hold him down for whatever stupid reason...S1 '23? Topps could blame it on supplies, man power, shipping, etc etc.

I think Series 2 is a real possibility. Look at Luis Robert in 2020. If he makes the Opening Day roster, which is almost a lock at this point, there’s no way he’s not at least in ‘22 Update. So if you’re Topps, you would much rather have him headline Series 2 instead of Update.

Agree completely. They could then shove him into the rest of the '22 releases that way.
