That fourth quarter man.,

Mitchell proving once again he’s better than Tatum. Can’t believe some still think he’s not.

Default **Official Donovan "Spida" Mitchell Fans Thread**

Averaging 33 and 5.7 assists over the last 3 on 57.%. His 2 point FG% is the highest it’s been in his career, well over 53%. As his 3 pt percentage gets going and he starts getting to the line more (which will come), the ingredients are there for a hell of a season.

Jazz on a 4 game W streak.

Mitchell is rolling now. He’s got it going on the drive and from beyond the arc. Looking straight up lethal.

Gotta say I’ve been impressed with the Cavs too. West looks top heavy and the East looks like a bloodbath this year.

He seems to be taking it to the rim with more conviction + a dunk or two a game all of which then frees up the three. Looks like the early season rust is fading and he’s off and running

Fun Spida Fact: D Mitch is the 4th fastest active player to 7000 points. The top 3 active NBA scoring leaders (LeBron, Durant, and Carmelo) happen to be the only ones who hit the milestone quicker.

Oh, and NBA player of the week for the West.

Not too shabby.

Part of why I was drawn to Mitchell was the frequent milestones he would reach as a rookie and be mentioned alongside names like the ones you mentioned, all while being the leader of a winning team, something rookies just don’t do these days. He’s kept it up ever since.

Nice to see the player of the week honors as well. We’re in store for a big season from Spida.

Yup. I think he’s dunked in like 3 or 4 games in a row. Showing how aggressive he has been but also moving without the ball, which is such a welcome sight. That’s easy points to add on to his scoring numbers.

That's a pretty crazy stat, to be honest. Never would have thought about him being on a list like this (especially with modern guys like D Book that started their careers getting buckets), but here we are.

Arachnidboi putting the league on notice.

Took me by surprise when I read it as well. I know Mitchell gets buckets, but I didn’t know that his offensive output was quite so prolific. That is some pretty elite company.

My favorite Mitchell card from my collection. I’m a University of Louisville alum and fan and I got to meet and talk with him several times when he played for the Cardinals. A really great and genuine guy.

No offense to Tatum, the guy has massive talent, but I’d rather have Mitchell heading up my squad.

Mitchell has had the benefit of continuity in Utah while tatum has had to assume the role of leader in constantly changing teams. Mitchell also has Rudy Gobert who changes the game and anchors that defense. Tatums ceiling is still much higher in my opinion.

Agreed on many points, I would love to see a different complementary roster surrounding Tatum. His ceiling is certainly tantalizing, no arguments there, it’s his consistency that is usually the issue. If he can find a way to bypass the valleys and keep the peaks in his performance, Tatum will wreak havoc on the league.

I like them both, I just prefer Mitchell if I had to pick one.

Fair enough, i am hoping that Tatum is just adjusting to his new coach and it looks like in the last few games he has figured it out. Spider is definitely fun to watch.

I think Tatum will thrive when it’s all said and done. Both guys are representing the 17-18 class well and the scary thing is that both will keep getting better.

I’m a die hard Mitchell fan. I think he is better than Tatum. But I also realize Tatum is a great player. As Mitchell fans, it’s easy for us to get defensive bc of all of the hate/lack of recognition he gets compared to his fellow stars. You’re clearly a Tatum fan and so we will not agree on who we think is a better player. And that’s ok. Both are great and I think both are actually underrated. I was just basking in the glory of that Jazz win over the Celtics and that Spida went nuts in that last 4 minutes of the game in clutch time to take the W. If the result would have been the other way around (Tatum scoring 11 points in the last 4 minutes and Celtics win) blowout would have been going nuts. Just wish my guy got more recognition in general.

That’s an amazing card! Glad it’s owned by a real fan. Awesome you got to meet him and interact. He seems like a humble person and more down to earth than most athletes these days.

He is playing SOOO much more effeciently the past week or two. I'm hoping his 3% comes up to his normal level...when it does that will add another point or two to his total.
