I wish these cards were on my radar earlier this year! Now that I have a few I am on the lookout for more. Very underrated.

Is anyone else noticing how horrendous the recent Ohtani autos are? It's hard to comprehend that this was the same person signing in 2018, especially pre-TJ. Sorry if this is someone's card on here, no offense.

Yes, quite disappointing although I can't imagine the volume of stuff these guys are being asked to sign. Makes me wonder if all the signed stuff Fanatics is selling will wind up like this, and if so if they're getting complaints/returns (since it's nothing like their stock photos).

Don't get me wrong, if he's spending the time saved by signing crappy autos at driveline and strength training, I support him signing garbage all day.

In my mind, it just puts further emphasis/value on his RC autos. I love Ohtani, but honestly in the most endearing way, who wants this garbage?

Interestingly Ichiro was also a guy who drastically changed his auto from rookie year (in the wrong way) but it doesn't look this bad.

I'm the type of person who's always modifying a little bit, a little tweak in form here and there, always changing. Which kind of contradicts with what Ichiro was saying. But as I've really thought about it over the last few years, I've realized that that's me, that's who I am—actually changing stuff around.” Shohei recognized that “being himself” meant always evolving. And it meant adhering to the instincts that had gotten him this far—that had made him the best player in Japan and had put him on the precipice of becoming the best in the world. “And so ever since that dinner with Ichiro, it kind of gave me the confidence to just be myself, to keep doing the right things, and to stay confident, to stay the course.”

Love the teks. I had these previously on the thread I think. Price-wise they clearly (PUN not intended) aren't as popular (yet?). Some REALLY SP versions of these are still quite cheap (relatively).

Boverton01 - anyone deal with him? I'd hate to show exposure to this guy's listings, but he just flooded a TON of 1/1's on eBay. Seems slightly fishy, but he has a huge feedback amount.

I am not a an auto afficianado, but that is a serious drop off in quality. Like it has been mentioned, 10's of thousands of autographs will likely damper anyone's care/attention to detail.

This could be another $3,000 starting-card-limit-hack job that we have been seeing recently. I wouldn't trust it, especially if they have multiples of very rate cards. ** I have not looked them up, but another auction has been making the rounds.

My family lives in Phoenix. Now that working remotely is a thing, maybe I'll relocate down there for a few weeks. Nobody here in NY would even know I was gone... Then again, who really knows what spring training this year is even going to look like?
