Even though it's early, Project 70 is better than I was expecting, I was skeptical that it could be as good as P2020. I don't plan on buying any from P70 yet. I am still pursing the P2020 bargains as I find them.

Well Darryl has pretty much straightened himself out by now. Gooden seems to be doing better, but has relapsed a lot. Dykstra is still a mess and now is going around claiming Ron Darling faked cancer so I could see why mlb might not want to promote him.

This set is more my jam. I gained more appreciation for the players and source cards in P2020, but that set was missing two key things:

Artists getting to select subjects
Artists getting to select source material for each subject [wait, they DID have that option but it was pretty annoying]

This is way more fun, for me. My favorite cards will be ones with faithful nods to Topps design with artistic spins like efdot or CES or siff, and great or creative image selection like Jonas Never, Siff, and Blake.

I didn't buy any of those cards I mentioned except Blake's but they all have things I really like about this set.

Too big, too soon, too expensive is still true, unless you can be very selective like our boy Silas. I'll take 3 drops a day, all year, and raise you $99 silver frame /51s. This thing is great. And the best part is, if you don't want a card, super easy to not buy it.

The Project 70 cards are great, but the reimagining of the same classic cards from the past was a neat concept that I liked from Project 2020. Also, while it was large in its own right, the size wasn't so vast and daunting.

Wrong thread ha ha. I THINK people here for the most part just want one at MSRP, so they aren't out paying the $300.

Wait, we're saying the same thing, backwards. Hunting and pecking over $192 difference in cost, I guess.

It's worth 5 minutes of frustration for now. but yeah it will get old.

[my stance: these are $99 good, but not $299 good, with the liquidity factor in case you get in hand and decide you'd prefer $256 in your pocket to owning the card]
