Maris' son was just interviewed on the Apple+ telecast and said the family considers 61 to still be the record to break which makes all those hugs they gave McGwire in 1998 seem a little silly in retrospect.

Do I remember correctly, the HR Big Mac hit to break the record was a weird line driver barely going out, not like a majestic moon shot?

You are correct. They made mention of it the other day during the Yankees broadcast when Judge hit that ground rule double because it was almost the same thing.

Verdugo was struck out on the prior pitch this time it wasn’t Coles fault and they won all is well in Yankees universe.

Someone needs to post the picture of it. If so, I will scream it for the millionth time - Get rid of these piece of crap umpires and immediately next year start the robotic strike zone up.
