Is this becoming his pattern though? “On pace for” has become the norm just like “if he can stay healthy”. He’s missed an average of 20 games it seems per year from 2021-2023 and all but 2 games in 2020. If my math is right that’s 205 games he’s missed since 2020 not counting this IL stint. That’s crazy.

Sincerely, I do feel for you guys that truly love Yordan the player. He's a great player. Baseball is better when he's on the field. Hoping he returns sooner than later.

It's so sad how it's always something with him. On pace for a historic RBI season and another extended injury. He can't even stay healthy when they put him at the DH spot the majority of the time

I'd say yes. At this point the "normal" projection for Alvarez includes about 130 games. Of course somewhere along the line he might play the full 150 or so, but I would consider that running hot.

That’s me for sure. I don’t have any money in Yordan as a collector. It’s just incredible that guys that are supposed to be the top 1% of baseball players in the world and miss significant time each year because of IL stints. Stanton is another. Judge sort of falls in this as well, and Trout

All mlb players are in the top 1% though! But I know what you mean.

Injury risk of Yordan is looking to now be higher then others. In the past I just thought it was the knees only risk.

I decided a long time ago to invest in talent, character, and power hitting. I don't value defense. Still couldn't be happier I chose Yordan. The guy is a class act.

I'll be the guy that posts his Father's Day! Such an important card to own for me.

Also, thanks SupermanB. That looks like a very sincere post! If we can all just ignore card values, investments, card populations, etc. I think we all agree Yordan is amazing for the MLB and the game of baseball. Still could possibly be the best hitter in baseball over next 10 years!!!

I'd put my money on him over anyone else for the next 5. He's probably already #1 right now. Judge is solidly ahead in wRC+ but with Yordan being 5 years younger, I'd take him going forward

Does he not have base autos from SCC? I know Bichette only has autos /25 and less. I've wanted a Yordan auto, but never seem to see any.

It wasn't on ebay. It was an IG deal. Seller had two (!) of them, including a PSA 10... which he's keeping. I would've loved to grab that one to keep them all PSA 10, but I'm just happy to finally get one.

No base, just orange /25, red /5, shimmer /5, and super 1/1.

Thanks. 2020 SCC might be one of my favorite sets just for the auto checklist alone. I guess I'll just have to hope another one of the /25's shows up and jump on it if it does.

Went to a show yesterday and found my first significant Yordan pickup in a while.

It was winding down and I was getting to the last tables when I saw this guy. Not sure on comps, but he sold it to me at a price that was probably the deal of the day because he just wanted to get this oversized item out of his life. Regardless of his motivation, I'm quite happy to have another super-rare RC logo auto. But it was strange that it had sat there in the dealer's case right at the front of the room all day without a sale. Maybe he was asking more earlier, or maybe the Astros are really that unpopular, even in San Antonio.
