PvP announced in game!

It says that Ultra/Best Friends can battle each other remotely, so here's to hoping that over the holidays I get a chance to take on a few of you that I've reached that level with.

Also, the press release says that battling trainers will count towards the Ace Trainer medal. Which, as someone who was just a few dozen away from gold, is a HUGE bit of good news.

Also also, Sinnoh Stone confirmed as a possible reward for battling other trainers.

interesting concept with the 3 tiers of leagues. 3 pokemon each, it'll be interesting on what team combinations people think of it. I was always thinking dark ttar, rock rhyperior and a Machamp. It'll be fun to see what people put in. Situationally, TDO will definitely need to be considered over DPS

Is anyone kinda burned out at this point?

I'm definitely excited about PVP so I can finish my badge up(need about 270 more on it), but I feel like its been a chore to play lately, and that bums me out.

Maybe the fact the legendary raids have been horrible, the regular events haven't been cutting it for me, the cold weather, or a combination of the 3, but I feel like my interest in waning. I still open and send gifts daily, but even then, I haven't even really done loops to get gifts, so I only have what I pick up daily on my path to work. Im not sure how much time I will have for this once April rolls around and Mortal Kombat 11 comes out. Thats been my go-to game for me, and im beyond excited about the next chapter of the franchise.

I've been completely burned out for over a month now. I've actually started playing Jurassic World Alive, and the features in this game are everything Pokemon Go needs to be. The battling system is light years beyond pokemon go.

My problem with Pokemon Go is that it's just the same thing over and over. Rinse and repeat. Same events, here's one new shiny, double this, double that...just no creativity at all. We'll see what PVP brings to the table, but this game needs more of a story mode type thing implemented.

I year ago i played some Draconius Go... it wasnt as smooth but it had a ton of features that pogo couldve emulated. I do constantly get burned out on this game mostly bc of the terrible legwndaries. I love mass raiding with friends. The shiny events keep me occupied for short spurts but im only marginally interested in pvp. I just have to get my sinnoh badge and champion badge gold (non legendary raids).
Ive gone 2 weeks in a row on my 7day research without a sinnoh stone. Pretty annoying

I think its only a 22% chance of something like that of getting one sadly

I'm hoarding my two precious sinnoh stones.

I know the game could really use to expanded features that other games currently offer, but for myself I'm just so relieved that the semester is over that I'm enjoying taking my long walks and playing while I go.

I get burned out when there are no new mon to chase. I love when the generations get released, gives me a reason to go out and hunt but otherwise it gets pretty boring. I enjoyed the addition of Adventure Sync function. I walk a ton at work so I can hatch and get candy a lot faster now without killing my phone battery. I was a bit disappointed that the Sinnoh Stones are not guaranteed now with the Field Research 7 day reward, I have played less now because I know I cannot evolve new mon every 7 days anymore. Just waiting for more gen 4 released so back to Contest of Champions and Future Fight to keep me entertained.

Some quick news in case anyone is unfamiliar.

You train by goig to the nearby and then swiping to the left. From there you can click one of the 3 team leaders.

You get a reward for the first trainer battle of the day, and then for 2 regular battles verses friends. You can receive a Sinnoh stone form these battles. I was awarded 2 - one for training, and another vs a friend that I won(in my loss I was awarded 1000 stardust), but I also saw 500 stardust as a reward as well.

Training against one fo the 3 they are set teams, and they are SUPER easy, even with the highest league. I could defeat them with 1 Pokemon, and without using the shield. They will also never apply the shield either.

Wow, the salt is really flowing over the cost to add secondary charge moves.....

Personally, I think that up until now the game placed "perfection" (full dexes, all shinies, etc) too close to within reach. It really made you believe that if you just went for a longer walk or bought some more incubators that you could possibly "catch'em all."

Now, with the high cost for adding secondary moves and the three levels of PvP, no one but the absolute most insane would even try to catch/power up/add all moves to all the top mons across the three tiers. I like it because it gives you some breathing room and the guilt-free freedom to focus more on building up the guys you actually like and developing your only trainer style.

Me? I'll probably start saving up candies for a few of my legendaries and eventually add a second move to my top MewTwo or my shiny Kyogre, but for most of 2019 I'll really just be looking to upgrade my hundos/perfects. Why? Because I love those scrappy mostly-non-meta guys and I can remember exactly when and where I caught each of them.

i agree that it is too high, and even with me having just under 13M dust.

I think ultimately they lower it, or have an event where it costs 50% less to buy the move.

I also like that this is really good to not have to max out everything, but to have some that will be used for the lower tier level leagues.

I decided I am going to get to 13 Mil, and then power up quite a few things. perhaps leave 10 M my base level for dust as a reserve.

Now what would be nice would be to be able to flip candy for stardust. Considering you get 100 stardust and 4 (if you transfer) candies per catch, that would seem to work out to a 25:1 dust-to-candy ratio. If I could turn my 2,000 Pidgey candies into the 50,000 stardust needed to add an extra move to a regular 'mon, that would be awesome.

If for no other reason than that it would give these mountains of junk candy some kind of purpose and would make it more rewarding to grind the common spawns.

One fun tournament style:

The winner of the previous match selects the tournament class.

The loser of the previous match selects the type.

Both players search that typing and six mons of the type take the field. Seemed to add a lot of strategy as we had to find guys across all three classes that had secondary typing to either resist the first typing or move sets to take advantage. It was both tricky and fun.

I was very lucky and went 2/2 on Lugia raids this wknd (a 91% and a 98% - highest Legendary I have caught so far). I then went 1/4 on Ho Oh before I finally caught one (84%). I was happy to have the opportunity to get them since I wasn't playing when they were in raids before.

Been a while since there was an update from anyone so I feel like I'll give this a bump.

Hope everyone had a good holiday and has a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year.

I've been down with a cold for about a week and a half so I wasn't out as much as I would have liked, and am just now starting to feel like myself again. if only this wicked cough would leave, I would feel much better.

I've had some Shiny luck again.

I caught 2 Delibirds, and hatched a Magby.

I've also hatched 2 Munchlax, and just now I hatched a Chingling! Which is apparently one of the rarest hatches in the game at less than a 2% chance. Silph road had the odds at 1/453 or something like that. It was also a 96% so that was sick.

Heteran i havent gotten a really good one et. Best is a 93, but im still trying.

Shout out to everyone who has been sending me gifts consistently. I've tried to open everyone so i don't skip a day, but its been tough to not have the strength to go out and get gifts to send back.

Had to go to Page 5 to find this!

Went out raiding with a local group I found. I did 4 Kyogre raids and 2 Groudon raids, and a Metagross, caught 2 Kyogre (1 shiny 82% IV, 1 normal 80%) and 1 Groudon (92%).

That being said, I’m very grateful to have found that group! Usually I can’t find raid partners to play with, so stacking a bunch of 5* with 8-20 people, and actually beating the boss is new to me.

Also got my first Lugia from my 7 day!

Pretty excited! I was lucky enough to find a shiny Totodile during my lunch at work during the weekend event, so overall not a bad January so far!

Still trying to find that elusive cubone for my Meltan special. Had one pop up and it fled (even after using the berry). Ugh!

If you can find it, this research task will give you a Cubone:

Use 5 Razz Berries to help catch Pokémon
Reward: Encounter - Cubone (Shiny Possible)

I am still playing everyday, this is some of my recent progress:

I became Best Friends for the first time -thanks Prime19!

I have 79,000 XP to go until I hit level 35

Community Day was a lot of fun
The best Totodile I caught was a 98% but is Level 5
I ended up with 4 shinies, the best one is 67%

I found a shiny Misdreavus across the street from work a couple days ago (64%)

I was also able to get my boyfriend to start playing recently - I had been asking him for months!

For someone that is relatively new to Pokemon Go, how do you easily identify a Shiny?
