They are kind of an odd team. I like Tatum, but I never quite liked how Boston would just ship the elements that seemed most valuable. I would have built up off of Nesmith and Grant Williams on defense, added to that. Like Pacers ultimately did with Nembhard, Mathurin, Sheppard.

Spoiled as a Pacers fan though. Traditional teams, the kind we can wholeheartedly root for as a unit, few and far between.

Brunson, to his credit, has created a pretty tight knit group.

The Tatum injury was really unfortunate, yeah the Celtics are probably losing that game because of the score and time remaining when he went down. However, you never know with the remaining games had Tatum been playing. It's not as easy as saying, Tatum cant make up for 39 points. Well, maybe he can't but it's possible that he could have prevented or offset one of the Knicks runs in game 6 which could have prevented some momentum. Some people say momentum isn't a thing, but I think it certainly is in basketball. I've seen so many teams on the wrong side of a run make horrific decisions on the offensive end of the court when the other team is making all their shots, especially 3's.

Anyway, the Knicks are really fun to watch when they are cooking. I love when Brunson gets hot and just seems to find a way to score. Reminds me of Iverson, but without the diva'ness. I'll probably be rooting for the Knicks the rest of the way. I know Brunson is a star but they do give me some 2000's Pistons vibes. I haven't watched a ton of Knicks games but KAT must be super frustrating for Knicks fans sometimes. His second and third fouls in game 5 were absurd, his situational awareness seems horrible.

Also, if Tatum just had a little charisma, he would be a way more popular player. It's a slippery slope for an NBA player though, too much charisma and everyone hates you.

"Jayson Tatum and Kobe Bryant both tore their achilles with 3:08 remaining in the 4th quarter"

At long last, Tatum's dream has been fulfilled. He finally has something in common with Kobe.

They're both NBA Champions, don't forget that.

Same could be said for this guy...

But really. No need for folks to punch down on Tatum now. Injuries sucks, and he's not a 0 time champion like Luka or anything.

Tatum just underwent surgery. He is on an "unprecedented" timetable. Could be fully healthy and revving up in May next year.

This test of whether Pritchard can carry a team.

Highly doubt he returns next year. Though he may get medically cleared, there's an extra level of precaution for a player of his age and stature, especially with additional time required to acclimate back to in-game speed and physicality.

Axe me how I know.

Big opportunity for Pritchard to step up, he seems to have the potential for it, kinda reminds me of young Curry

Yes. Good to hear that. I have always liked the dude, ever since I heard he created a gym in his Boston apartment so everyone could work out during pandemic. I think Aaron was there on the reg.

Wow you are so right, look at the Celtics 0-3 without Tatum, Jaylen Brown really is the leader of this team, how I didn’t understand this before they on fire without Tatum, like a different team!
