I’d guess $2k-2500 after things settle a bit. Buying the first month after release you will surely pay a premium. Hawks won’t make the playoffs. Depending on release date, buy during summer.

Maaaaaaaaaan those are some high roller prices!! I gotta start saving and see if I want to go that route or just a bunch of lower end ones instead. I'm not even going to ask how much for The Cup lol.

Try 3-4K. Just look back at the prices for Kirill and Caufield. Those came out in the 2K range.

Ultimate has much better quality and /99 vs /999, but the hockey market history says SPA will be more.

I agree with this on the FWA. 3-4k feels about right.

I expect the young guns to test the limits of the supply and demand curve. There's going to be thousands of them within days of the release. The big chase will have the gambling degenerates breaking Series 2 and they tend to try to resell fast. And thousands more will flood comc once epack hits. Introducing all the variations might actually hurt the value of the regular YG by watering it down. When McDavid hit, it was base YG, exclusives, and high gloss (canvas came later). Bedard will have base YG, outburst, clear cut, deluxe, exclusives, high gloss, and the 1/1 (and possibly canvas in S2). All said, I think Bedards will settle around $300 - $350 about three weeks after release.

I'd stay away from Artifacts. Autos are sure to be sticker and you'll have to wait to get them via redemption. Other autos will be flooding the market by the time those are shipped out. Trilogy is also a set I'd stay away from...never seems to do well on the secondary market.

Bedard is definitely the real deal. Too bad he’ll have a half dozen Art Ross and a few Cups built in to his prices before any of his key cards even come out. I’ll be waiting a few years for his auto supply to grow before picking anything up.

Man! The whole bust moniker is crazy before a body of work can be seen. Even Laffy is still young, but by not taking the league by storm, people who were all in on him lost big. Diversity is key.

They are not a great team... but there's an absolute buzz in the air in that building that I've not felt in a while.

As for the YG... I agree with the above that we are about to see one of the more extreme supply/demand tests we've had. Supply is WAY up over the 15-16 boom. And that was already way up.

If it's 2x last season, we'll see 100k YGs. Plus the parallels. And on top of that, we are going to see way more ripped within the initial release period. So not just an increase in production but ripping behavior will further send singles out into the world. While there may be 50k of the Beniers YG out there... most of it is still sealed away. So the market isn't feeling 50k singles. I think we'll have a LOT of S2 ripped. Rapidly. For everyone saying "well, I'm putting away 10 cases" we'll have people ripping 1000 cases. I'm guessing maybe 10x more will be opened near release than previous releases.

BUT... we'll also have probably 20x more people that WANT a Bedard than wanted a Beniers (pick your YG from the last couple years).

So... where does that leave us? Time will tell. But if he keeps up the pace, hype will continue.

I think it will be incredibly irrational because that's what we do.

That last statement is absolutely true. UD QC for 10’s is in the 30-50% for 2023-24 Series 1. If they do not correct this, 10’s will explode because of the difficulty in gemming.

Sad to say, but in hockey, numbering does not bring the premium most would expect. The only cards that have a significant numbering following are
UD exclusive /100 and High Gloss /10. It will be interesting how the Deluxe out of /250 are priced. SPA Inscription are the only other significant hockey following from what I see.
