Full stock was 4 megas plus 3 trays of hangers + loose cellos, hangers + blasters, and blasters only. The store I went to had the low end (18 hangers and only 10 cellos in trays that the rep took straight out of MJ boxes) but some people posted pics of slightly fuller trays.

You're incredibly lucky, especially considering you live in LA. I mean you hit the 777 on the mosaic slot machine.

1.) Product has been hard to find.
2.) Product is now running out.
3.) You live in LA

Struck gold and ran into the excel rep attarget this morning. She told me they were out of mosaic and not getting anymore but that I was welcome to look through the boxes. Went to grab a basket because she said she had some bowman megas. When I came back she goes “I totally forgot I held some mosaic back at this store last week because some guy keeps cleaning me out every week while I’m stocking.”

She had 20 blasters and a sealed cello box. She asked me to leave a few for the next person so I took half the blasters and the cello box. Unfortunately the cello box had to be opened at checkout in order to be scanned. Also took 10 out of the 20 bowman megas she had.

No way I would've found any of this near LA as even my go-to Targets which are 30 min drive away were getting cleaned out or had no stock of anything new in weeks. Didn't want to keep checking hopelessly so I took a guess as to where there might be fewer flippers/sneakerheads. Basically I planned to check a few stores in an area where average incomes are higher. I'm not knocking flippers and sneakerheads, but if you're wealthy then you aren't flipping sneakers and Mosaic.

Drove towards San Diego still thinking it might be a wild goose chase. At the first Walmart I walked into in Oceanside, the rep was finishing up. Couldn't believe it as I'd never seen any megas or hangers of basketball on a shelf before. Left all the blasters for the next guy as I wasn't looking to spend $1000 on Mosaic.

Lol that was a 160 mile round trip. Was in the last week of May. Haven't opened any of it as I may try trading with a LCS.

Just happened upon 2 Optic mega at a walmart. First 2020 basketball product I have found other than 1 mosaic cello pack.

Rip or sell? These things seem like they have more value sealed but I haven't opened any yet. Any input?

I didn't rip any Optic megas this year but did rip 6 Optic retail boxes (as well as retail formats from previous Optic BKB releases). Based on my own experience, I'd sell them. I've also ripped 18 boxes of 2017-18 Optic FOTL as well as other Optic BKB hobby/FOTL formats and have never made anywhere close to my money back EVEN at MSRP.

I would try to sell one to at least get all or most of the other one paid for and then rip with no regrets (however my lone mega rip was pretty horrific - small (1) sample size for me, but seems like others had tough luck too)

Congrats and very genius of you. I made a statement that I thought some people would drive 100 miles to get some Mosaic and I remember someone saying that was too far. Personally, I don't think it is in the time of Covid and you've confirmed that.

Like I said, your entire thought process was genius and IMO you deserve the haul you got. Well done!

Was that drive even worth it?
I stay out of LA and dont even go that far south past OC to look.

I did a road trip too last month, would have never gotten Mosaic had I not. My son asked me if it was worth it, and I said if I chose to sell these, it would pay for the gas, lunch, oil change, and a new kitchen sink, LOL

Decided to rip the cellos since Target wouldn't let me keep it sealed. Worked out pretty well. Top hits were:
1) Silver LeBron
2) Zion Base
3) Zion Debut Base
4) Giannis Pink Camo MVP
5) Harden Pink Camo MVP

Will probably send the LeBron and Zion's for grading. They are surprisingly clean.

If you're in Torrance, I assume you know the Manhattan Beach Target. First time I checked out their card aisle, there was a pack searcher. I finished my shopping, had another look at the card aisle 20 minutes later and LOL he was still at it. Though someone posted they had some luck finding Mosaic at this store, I haven't bothered looking there. Just too much competition in the LA area.

First post but have been following the thread for awhile now. Good stuff and has helped me score some decent hauls.

Walked into Target this morning and rep was loading tons of Bowman Megas and Prizm Baseball. Grabbed some Prizm since my son and I haven't ripped any. Next stop was a Wal-Mart. Must have just been stocked. Walked out with 9 Optic Megas and one Mosaic Cello. This was in Texas.

I mean, he did leave some product, drove 160 miles through 2 counties in Socal. I am only speculating on the amount of driving and time it took to find that stash.
Impressed that his effort paid off and was able to find some new basketball product.
There are definitely many stores on the way through OC that had Mosaic and people were willing to share the loads.
