I have spoke about breaking this product over last 3 months

A little in multiple threads

I opened 15 boxes and did great

Gold trout
Gold tatis
Silver trout
Silver mookie
Silver judge
Black mookie

But my question is ... do you think there is a way to tell if a box has an auto ?

I have no idea how you could. The only 2 ways would be

The number on the silver sticker .. is there a code ?

Second by weight ... but boxes have either 1-3 refractors mostly 2

So if the auto is heavier the odds would be tough because of the multiple refractors in the box

I ask this question because I opened 15 boxes and got zero autos

All boxes came from the same dist .. they got in 50 boxes and I have been buying them slowly

In my honest opinion there is no way to know. Autos should fall 1 in every 6 boxes. Opening 15 and getting 0 isn't too crazy. That would be the equivalent to getting 5 autos in 15 boxes. Again, could definitely happen. After 150+ boxes of these there is no pattern that I've noticed for autos.

Went 1 for 15 on a PSA sub! Someone pissed in the grader's cheerios. This was the only 10.. at least it was a good one

Congrats on the grade. Maybe the grader did it on purpose, giving you a 10 on the Trout and 9 on the other 14, hoping for a crack out and resub = more $ for PSA

Not gonna lie, I thought about that. I think PSA usually gets it right but there are some head scratching subs from time to time. All people want is consistency.

It was all modern 2020 stuff like update and Chrome. The kind of cards where you just expect 80% 10s if the packs weren't gropped. Like I said above, bad grader. It happens but it stings more now with prices so high and turn arounds so long. We just have to deal with it I guess if we want it in a psa slab. To each their own!

$450 was Blowout's peak offer last year when it was hot initially. Nice if it gets back there.

Welp, the Whit Merrifield Super Auto just hit ebay with a 4k list price. That was the one I was looking for. I want it. But not at that price. Threw in a couple offers of what I think it should be worth but they were auto denied.

Any one interested in purchasing a crap load of Merrifield base? lol

It’ll sit on eBay for a long time at that price. Eventually if the person wants to move it, they’ll play ball. Try sending them a message asking what their best price is and that should open up some form of negotiation hopefully.
