When I see these “variations” and SPs nowadays

Very disappointing. I pulled 8 in my 20 hanger boxes and said to myself "this isn't right". I know I'll get good value for them still but I miss the rarity!

Another reason why I’m staying away from retail Prizm altogether.

220,000 blasters dropped on one day on Target alone.

That doesn’t include Wal Mart online drops, plus Wal Mart in store stock, plus the Fanatics drop, plus the Fanatics exclusive blaster drop, or Barnes and Noble in store stock plus any numbe of other one off in store stocks.

The numbers are going to be outright astounding. Especially given that no Mega box has a guaranteed auto this year and some have no shot at an auto.

Yea, I am curious how many "variation" silver prizms there are. You gotta think there are 300,000+ hanger boxes, probably 100,000 silver variations. 30 cards in the set, over 3000 per player at least.

Did you get any silver variations that weren’t rookies?

I thought so. I hadn’t seen a hanger yet but figured the variations were just rookie.

The print run is likely very silly.

With the amount of retail that is hitting, I wouldn't be surprised if blasters dip below the $29.99 price point.

I feel like logic and math should have people wary of dropping big $$$ on this... but that is not the case. What a world.

This reminds me of when they started making Star Wars figures again in the late 90s and everyone one was stocking up to cash out later. Now bins and bins of these live in SW fan's garages, worthless and untouched. Maybe I'm wrong and cards are the new gold.

Silver is as worthless and base with the way panini is printing retail. Numbered is the way to go. The only colors that are worth a damn now in Prizm NFL is blue cracked ice, gold, snakeskin, gold vinyl and a team match color if there is one. Snakeskin is more question. No one cares about camos.

Agreed. Silver and bases are worthless IMO. Numbered or hobby colors is the only way to go.

And honestly, low #’d over just numbered and color. There’s just so much, so many parallels. What makes it special?

Some of the prices in QB base is bringing serious Beanie Baby vibes.

Everybody is the next Brady? Not so sure.

I learned a very good lesson early on from collecting Star Wars toys. I was about 16 years old and amassed about 50 or so unopened figures from Episode 1 and 2. While I liked most of them, I just bought any character I didn't have thinking that long-term, they'll be worth something. A co-worker of mine at GameStop, who was in his 30's, told me that it was a fool's errand unless I just enjoyed them. Laid it out that if everyone has the same idea to buy these figures and hold them to cash out later, nobody is going to make a dime since there's nobody to buy them off of you.

Stopped buying them and instead only bought stuff I liked. Years later, when I moved, I decided to sell off my figures and low and behold, the stuff I bought just to have and collect (MGS, Rocky, Bioshock, and other lines) were worth a ton while my Star Wars figures were eventually donated due to not being worth much of anything.

Still can't believe people are buying things like WWE Prizm or retail of this thinking that years from now it'll be worth 10x what you paid for it. Not gonna happen, this stuff is printed to Mars.

Worse analogy than beanie babies.

The new Star Wars figures which started in 1995 were rehashes before Hasbro started reissuing old ones outright. Most toys can still be had near original sticker price, but many were always hard to find and carry a premium in the aftermarket.

I don't know about WWE Prizm, but I love wrestling and having a blast with WWE Revolution and AEW. I am keeping Stone Cold stuff for sure.

I said in post above. Black Finite, Gold Vinyl, Gold, Snakeskin, Blue Ice are the only prizms are matter. Perhaps team color match. Gold Disco and Gold shimmers will also have a market. Thats it.

For top players, there is only so many gold prizms available. I can see gold shimmers and gold disco having a market if true gold is out of reach.

I just like snakeskins, so if no market its better for me (Bears are my team so its a nice color match)

Many? No. Many are worthless. A few carry a premium.

There a Phantom Menace Palpatine on eBay for $4. There are huge PM / POTF 2 / SOTE lots on eBay for tiny amounts, and lots of them. The sold listings are a bloodbath.

Best. Analogy. Ever.
