Lol. I received the same message a few months back in an offer for a Joe Theismann card I had listed for $1.75 (he offered like $0.75 and I declined). He must have multiple twins.

I was picking on Mike Schmidt, Mookie Betts, and Dale Murphy in the Mike Trout thread and received this lovely message… on eBay!

This is why many here choose not to post ebay info. Hurt someone's feelings they run and screw with your listings. Wonder who this term is here. I think I know. It was already on my bbl for non payment called him out about it once and he removed his id

Sometimes I don't get why people sent weird messages on ebay like that. I get the good luck trying to get that or the would you take this for an item , but just to smack talk like that make no sense at all.

My cheapest available cards are listed for $1.99 with free ESE shipping, no BO turned on.

I received a message from user thewalkinginvestment last night asking, “can i please buy this for a buck?” on one of my items. Of course, post shipping label, processing fees, and eBay FVFs, selling for $1.00 would put me at a loss. Before I responded, I took a look at their feedback and it’s littered with false positives, so I decided to not respond and just added to my BBL. One of the false positives refer to another alias of nikau-58.

This evening, I received a message from nikau_54 on the same card asking, “Can I please buy this for a buck” and again ignored and added to my BBL.

Got an email from ebay last night... you have a new message etc. Checked out the message. Dude said "please follow me on IG!"

and that was it lol. i guess this guy is using ebay listings to recruit new followers.

Honest question for regular ebayers, I dont sell a ton and when i sell lower end cards its to get my feedback up. Got my first negative feedback because i sold this guy a low numbered paper parallel that I had mislabeled as a 1st bowman. Definitely my fault, I used a 130 sold item template and didnt realize i hadn't taken it out. He left me negative feedback and my initial reaction was damn, I totally missed that so I hit him up offering a refund.

Its not a huge deal, youre going to get negative feedback when you sell, but the more i thought about it it was clear in the pictures that it wasn't a 1st and the guy didnt bother trying to reconcile the issue on a .99 cent card before leaving me negative feedback? I would have gladly refunded and let him keep the card for the mistake. Totally get i screwed up, just seems like some people are quick to pull the trigger on not resolving things easily.

Unfortunately, there's users on ebay that just get off on leaving negative feedback for sellers. Mistakes happen, 99% of the buyers are reasonable, or have common sense. There's still that 1% that are just out to stick it to whoever they can.

That's why you cannot let negs get to you they hurt feelings more than they do sales. You sell long enough you will encounter these type buyers. Sometimes you can beat them others you are their victim

Add nka5582 to the “Can I please buy for a buck” lineup.

Default "What's your lowest?"

Husband usually has me run eBay with a lot of auctions and just recently swapped to list more of our higher end slabs and some PC things.

Is there a real answer to the "what's the lowest you'll go?" I don't really have a value in mind and would really like people to use the "Or Best Offer" feature and just shoot an offer. We will decline if it's low...

I feel like being snarky sometimes and asking them back "what's the highest you'll pay?"

Just tell them this:

My asking price is listed, or YOUR best offer will be considered.

Agree, most if not all times they don't actually make the purchase.

I do exactly the same - please utilize the best offer feature if you want to make an offer.

I have done that dozens of times and received zero actual offers. Big surprise.

Years ago, I use to actually give a price, then they just counter with an even lower price.

100% this.

If they are asking via message instead of actually using the BO feature, they're typically just tire spinners unless they've previously made an offer that you've auto-declined and they give some detailed information in their message.

This! We got an offer and a message a bit lower on a Mike Trout card we had up and it just felt good and legit.

To questions like that, my typical response is, "I'm willing to negotiate on the price, but you need to make an offer first."

Those who say "Ignore them" are pretty much right as I haven't had, but maybe one, person actually respond back with a number.
