I will be honest. I never expected the packs to sell for this much. Right now, I will be fine either way. If I get my Kobe autos, sweet. I pulled it myself so it would be a cool PC card. If not, I will sell the pack and buy a Kobe in the 1k-1.2k range and put the rest in my bank account. Its a win-win to me. Now, it just depends on how long it is going to take to get the pack and I have zero movement on my redemption to this point.

Yea that’s really it right there. I mean 3 grand? Panini probably couldn’t even fathom the prices on these packs..

As an aside, does anyone or can anyone possibly know when the new contenders autos being sent were signed? I received an offer for a cash trade + a previous slabbed different one than I received yesterday. It’s generous. Question is were these signed more recently than the previously pack inserted ones?
I’m keeping the card but just trying to understand the higher interest.

The interest really all depends on the “moment”/photo depicted. Championships will always demand the highest interest as well as unique poses. I would have to imagine had they made the 81pt game that would probably sell very well

This^ again.

Not all Contenders auto are the same value wise. Championship goes for $7k and the rest are selling for $4.5- $5.5k.

Added bonus if the autograph doesn’t run off the card.

81 Pts would be sweet, Kobe’s final game, Game Winner against Phoenix, 4th and 5th championships especially since we’ll see him holding both FMVP and the LOB trophy etc

See, essentially this is turning a $120 card (pre-death price) into $3k. Even so, its basically doubling your money with the pack. I have an Optic Purple from 2019-20 that I redeemed. I want it because I pulled it and like that it is team colors, but I won't complain about a pack whatsoever as the pack is worth more unopened than the Purple Optic would be I'd imagine.

I think it's due to autos being mailed out first. I would be surprised if more people received packs than autos when all is said and done.
