For those of you who are George W. Bush fans, Target is offering the same promotion:

Out of Many, One (Deluxe Signed Edition) - by George W Bush (Hardcover)

$237.50
new at target

Buy 2 get 1 free on select movies, music and books

This will probably end up the same way as Obama's books did.

Why pre-sales are a joke.
Don’t sell till you have it in hand. Price is only going up anyways

I don’t do that 99% of the time but figured I’d do it now as most listings were presales and to test the waters.

Target said it was a distribution issue.

Alright guys, how would you rank the B&N signed books in terms of popularity AND ebay sale price?

Here is my list:

1. Portman

2. Seinfeld
3. McCaughnahey

4. Mayor Pete
5. Cleese
6. Wright
7. Bell
8. Fallon

6. Everyone else? I have a feeling I am missing a few...

How would you rank the books?

I've seen comments of Amazon orders of multiples being cancelled as well. I'm not sure what the outcome might be.

Something tells me the signed editions of these that B&N sold for $38 will likely be unsigned or cancelled as well.

Hey everyone, thanks for tips on here. I missed out on the Obama book sadly. However, I had a question if it is allowed. I have a personal goal to collect as many presidents and historical figures as possible. I sold all of my sports cards, because I wanted to get into history collecting. Is there a resource for the best websites to find books/anything authentically autographed by politicians, historical figures and presidents? Thanks for any help :-)

Why do you think that?

Because everywhere, including B&N, is selling the deluxe editions that are signed for 6x that price.

Eh, I don't know. B&N apparently had signed copies of 41 for BF in 2014 (according to an old BusinessWire), and that too has a Limited Edition. Similarly, there were signed copies of Portraits of Courage that weren't the deluxe edition (these might've just been for events).

I'd expect them to just end up being autopenned rather than cancelled.

Seinfeld was sitting there until late in the evening when someone came in and bought them all.

Yeah, it's crazy how demand varies by state/region!

We got one, but swung back by as had heard some stores were stocking again that night. Ours were not one of those stores, but Jerry was still there waiting.

I thought it was a one-and-done thing for each store...perhaps a wave 2?

What we thought as well, but employee said some stores were told to keep a few behind and restock that night.

But, after that, I think that's it. No "second wave" of all the signed books coming out.

As far as I know, there is not, but we also stopped by one out of state 2 years ago that had gotten a "third wave" and claimed these things happen.

Well, I'll be on the look-out! Don't really go to B&N often, but may make a weekly trip to see what's new!

I called my local store today and gave the item number for the signed Fables edition and the warehouse was at 0 stock and only 2 stores in the US showed more than 1 copy. Upon calling the first one didn’t have them anymore and the 2nd is shipping me their last copy.

Why horde them? She will be writing more children's books with signatures. She will be signing Star Wars in the future. Expected better from you then to stalk Barnes and Noble for every last copy. I expect it from the LCS owner that shills every single product on here.

Not sure if you misread Vargaman's prior posts or what but where did you see him hording Portman books??? As far as I saw he missed out when he hit up some B&Ns so he called around to get one.
