Mutual interest between Twins and Cruz. I'd be all for it if it's 1 year, maybe 2

@michaeljduarte "Rival executive told me today that he believes the Bryce Harper sweepstakes (as of Mon.) is down to three teams: #Phillies #WhiteSox and #Dodgers. A lot of other moves would need to be made first for LA to land Harper, AND I'm told team is hesitant to meet Boras asking price."

Since you’re a big Whitesox fan. Curious as what and why aside from a large pay day would Bryce want to sign w the Sox in your opinion?? Also what’s the concensus from other Sox fans. Do most want him to sign??

Kluber to the Dodgers sounding more and more likely, and it's really the only deal that would make sense. Brewers don't have the centerpiece to get a deal done, and the Indians aren't trading him to the Yankees (especially not with Florial or Frazier as the OF centerpiece).

Makes too much sense, IMO. Dodgers have a ton of different options they could send from the outfield and can put the best package together (hopefully not too good ). Dodgers rotation would be getting pretty crazy if they do get him, with a top 3 of Kluber, Kershaw, Buehler

I'm in the boat that the Indians don't need to make a trade involving a starter, so the haul had better be massive (as it should be for a cost-controlled ace). Verdugo + Puig or Pederson ++ or you sit on it.

Agreed. I wonder if the Indians are trying to lump in Kipnis which might be a sticking point right now.

Nice top 3 for the regular season, 2 of the 3 are terrible post season pitchers.

Kluber had a 1.83 ERA over six starts in the 2016 WS run, lest we not forget.

Yeah, pretty much all Sox fans are on board with either him or Machado. I personally prefer Harper but I would be happy with Machado as well. Money is the main reason why Harper would want to sign with the Sox (and I think the Sox will have to overpay to make it happen), but they also have a bright future despite their record last year and they play in one of the weakest divisions in baseball. Not to mention that Chicago is a huge market and Harper seems to like it.

LA seems to be attempting to become the evil empire of the national league. Just haven't figured out the winning part of it yet.

Yeah, they're not rebuilding - they're relocating assets - and it makes a ton of sense to trade depreciating assets that they have a wealth of to fill holes. I'm on board with moving a starter, even though it sucks. They still will have Carrasco/Bauer/Bieber/Clevinger with other options in the minors. It makes sense.

That rotation was literally Kluber and Josh Tomlin for most of the playoffs, he put the team absolutely on his back.

This stuff never works out 100%, but I think it’s pretty awesome if the Dodgers Wall away from the winter meetings with Harper, Kluber, Realmuto, and a couple relievers.
If this happens they win the offseason hands down. That would be an incredible haul for one team. It would leave them pretty bare in the cupboard and without much depth though.
