I agree. I'm personally sick of all the Mike Trout cards, but money talks. I'm sure we will also get a healthy dose of Tatis, Betts, Soto and Acuna in P70.

I don't think Eddie Murray or Phil Niekro (my personal fav) will make the cut. Besides the obvious ones, I'm excited about the following (with my O/U): - Seaver (+/- 2.5 cards) and Piazza (+/- 2 cards): 3rd best pitcher in baseball history? Hopefully both get Siffed. - Reggie (+/- 3 cards): Do the kids still collect him? Do kids even still watch Naked Gun? His rookie hasn't really jumped in price in the last year. - Willie Stargell (+/- 1 card): Like Reggie, I sense that he's relatively forgotten, but has just about everything going for him. Beloved figure, big supporter of sickle cell research, great nickname, multiple championships, best player on one of the most famous teams in history. Just didn't reach 500 HRs, and maybe tainted a bit by the Pirates troubles in the early 80s? - Maddux (+/- 1 card) and Chipper (+/- 5 cards): I'm curious how Maddux gets represented since he's so nerdy by pro athlete standards. Chipper gets Larried at least once (Siff??). - Larry Doby (+/- 1 card) and Satchel (+/- 3 cards): It's 2021, someone has to give Doby a card. - Les Expos (+/- 1 card): Carter is probably the best hope, in a dual Mets/Expos card. Rock and Dawson and Vlad Sr and Staub sadly don't make the cut, Johnson gets inducted as a Mariner and/or Diamondback. |

I would love to see a Greg Maddux card as well Shin, but I can see him being left out. Maddux is a guy that is extremely underappreciated in my opinion, but one of the best of all time.

Also, for the Expos, Vlad Sr probably makes an appearance on a Vlad Jr card. Hopefully while wearing an Expos hat. |

Maddux would be a great choice. Definitely one of the greatest pitchers ever, and often overlooked.

Agree TBP. Throw in a couple of high end autos for people to pay big bucks for and sell the rest of the base cards for cheaper.

Oh, this one's good. Finally Blake gets the RCs. And, Aaron. And, the Adell and Bryce Harper cards look great.

1XRUN Podcast with Naturel
I found this 51 minute discussion insightful. If you don't have 51 minutes, skip to 37:30 to listen to Naturel more comfortable being at home as Lawrence... Lawrence “Naturel” Atoigue is a contemporary pop-surrealist from Landover, Maryland whose distinct neo-cubism teems with cultural references and fashion statements. Naturel's relationship with 1XRUN began 10 years ago. On the newest eposide of the 1XPodcast, CEO/Co-Founder Jesse Cory talks with the artist, and his manager Greg Cummins, about their historic partnership and the new projects to come. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2aY...Q5u5xXIOlODdyw |

Maybe I can get a base set of Blakes 1951 down the road, P70 "announcement" backed me out of buying week 1, and thus the rest of the weeks.

Thats a nice companion card! Creates some sort of odd inter-squad game out of everything, but whatever!

WhoKilledTupac,
Thanks for sharing the latest Ermsy companion card. Even though I've purchased items from his site, I somehow can't figure out to get on his notifications list. |

That's so fun. This is what I want from an Ermsy companion: a cartoon baseball game that takes place on cartoon Earth instead of cartoon heaven.
And he's left plenty of space for an embellished version with X sitting in the dug-out. X=Billy Martin? Jose? ROLLIE FINGERS??? |

My incomplete and unofficial list of some of my favorite players that I think artists could make interesting cards of. Nicknames matter!
Randy Johnson - I really hope one of the artists with a mildly sick sense of humor picks Johnson and somehow references the bird pitch. I know Johnson was less than amused at the time, but it was certainly a memorable moment. For the record... I love animals. Jim Thome - I can’t think of a better player to represent the Indians in this set. Someone please pick an Indian! Brooks Robinson - The Human Vacuum Cleaner Albert Pujols - The Machine. I can see JK5 and Naturel having fun with Pujols. Greg Maddux - My Grandpa loved baseball and appreciated the science behind it. I still remember him explaining Ted Williams hitting zones but also him giving me Tom Seaver’s book - The Art of Pitching to read. He always told me there are successful Throwers and there are successful Pitchers. But Pitchers are artists who make magic happen with a baseball. Maddux was one of the few players he called a pitcher. Seems fitting for him to have a card in an art based set! Jim Abbott - Threw a no-hitter with one hand as a Yankee. I have always been amazed by what he accomplished. Tim Salmon - Mainly because I can see Shore doing a duet card with Mike Trout. Hideo Nomo - A Dodger with one of the most iconic pitching motions in history. I still mimic his windup when pitching to my son in the back yard. I have to ice my back afterwards but it’s well worth it. Imagine what Ermsy could do with a Nomo card!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by tblood; 02-03-2021 at 03:42 PM. |

When the Yankees played the Diamondbacks in the World Series, a fan held up a sign that said, 'It takes more than 9 Yanks to beat our Johnson!'.
I would like an artist to incorporate that sign in a Randy Johnson card. |
