Rip the cellos/fat packs. Chrome in every pack and chance to hit the big bronze. Also harder to resell. Might as well rip

I opened 30 of the 40 fatpacks. Its been super fun. Haven't touched the blasters/hangers

I have dabbled in Chronicles 2019 and hit multiple Ja and Zion’s with some Herro’s, White’s and RJ sprinkled in. I am still not as impressed with 2019 Chronicles, but it still has that “variety” going for it. I need to redeem my RJ Absolute Glass card I guess.

I still genuinely don't understand how anybody can objectively claim 18-19 chronicles was a better product than 19-20. The one thing I can think of that 18-19 did better was having a slightly better shot at pulling a super low numbered card. However, good luck trying to pull a /5 bronze from 18-19 fatties. I doubt the odds are even that much better than 19-20. 19-20 retail you can still pull SSP /10 gold and /99 blue which are probably the 2 most desired parallels. Not 100% sure but I could've sworn I've pulled reds /149 myself from 19-20 though I get confused on what I've ripped vs. bought.

I understand you're Luka and 18-19 chronicles pump king (thank you for that btw, exactly as I directed, I'll venmo you in a bit), but come on, If we're actually having a conversation about which year is the better chronicles product, this should be a slam dunk 19-20.

I guess in rambling I do prefer 18-19 phoenix, but I mean we're really stretching here. In 19-20, more chrome, easier to pull Zion/Ja than Luka/Trae, less trash chronicles set cards and vets, and chrome silvers. Neither set is easier to grade so that's a wash. What am I missing?

I went back an read your post and dude it is people like you that have made my ignore list longer. To try to call out someone for liking a product is crazy. Yes I am a Luka fan and don’t deny it. Yes I like the rookie class of 2018 better the. The 2029 class. Yes I think the 2019 Chronicles set added some stupid sets to the mix. No I have not purchased as much 2019 BECAUSE THE PRICE IS CRAZY! If people would stop trying to be the “forum police” and enjoy the hobby more people would enjoy it. Making negative post seem to be common and glad you made some money on my advice. I don’t use Venmo or such so no need to. You like 2029 Chronicles and that is fine. I am not buying any 2019 because I can buy single of the 2018 class for what people are paying for 2019 packs. Both 18-19 and 19-20 have positives but as someone who just buys the cards I like from Chronicles (not "investing"), 18-19 is much better in my opinion. The card stock used in 19-20 sucks on a lot of the paper cards. The colors don't pop either (Compare a red Essentials from 18-19 to 19-20 and you'll see what I mean.)

I don’t know man I’m 100% in the 18-19 blows 19-20 out of the water. I like the Phoenix design better I like the Optichrome design I like the Crusade design more. HH does nothing for me as well as a lot of the other chrome cards from this year. Also in 2018 you had Obsidian Preview which were awesome too.

The other thing that makes 18-19 way better both hobby and retail is on card autographs in 19-20 they went to stickers which ruined all autos for me.

Also adding the vets to the chrome products and expanding the checklist watered down the chrome versions of everything.

The only thing IMO that 19-20 did better than 18-19 is having the silver parallels of stuff like Phoenix and crusade etc.

I enjoy the Phoenix and Crusade designs from both years. Both 18/19 and 19/20 look great for both of these sets. The Flux colors and silvers from 19/20 look amazing in person as well.

The only paper I care too much about are the luminance.

Both years look great IMO. I've definitely been buying the hell out of the chrome cards from 19/20. I feel like they are one of the most underpriced cards from 19/20 given their rarity. The bronze are like finding hen's teeth. But even some of the other colors like teal and green don't come up that often for sale.

Also, if anyone is holding a Sekou Flux bronze and thinking of selling or trading hit me up. Only bronze I'm missing of his.

The obsidian preview point is a good one. I forgot about those, there is no chrome in 19-20 that compares. I never pulled a meaningful auto in either year but given the checklist, I basically ignore autos in my thought process because neither year is that great. The rest is subjective, I like the photos and sets much better this year than last, I actually like flux the most as a chrome set. Crusades got better but phoenix got worse but those are all subjective. 18-19 phoenix was just so good in the non-base versions, wish they did basketball color burst like they did in football

While Autos from 18-19 don’t matter if you are only opening retail it was a nice incentive in hobby boxes that was not there in 19-20 hobby boxes at all. I’m not saying 19-20 is trash I’m picking up 19-20 of key rookies. I just think the pros of 18-19 outweigh the silvers of 19-20

- on card Autos
- obsidian previews
- fewer chrome versions with the same number of chrome cards per pack so better chance at Phoenix Crusade etc.
- no vet in the premium sets so better chance at rookies
- I like the elite design and panini made it a stand alone in 19-20

Just stuff like that none of the benefits are massive but they add up and is what I like more about 18-19.

I probably went overboard so I owe you an apology. I mostly have an ax to grind with the Luka thread. That thread is singularly in my mind one of the most predatory things I've ever seen online. I was disgusted by the it's happening thread for a long time but the Luka one pushes me over the edge. I understand why it exists. I myself have a house on paper built on Luka. When a single Luka card I own surpasses the worth of my entire collection from 20+ years, I get why everyone high-fives themselves in a circlejerk thread.

I don't know anything about you, if you're some retired dude just trying to enjoy the hobby with no other intentions good for you. But I think you need to understand the consequences of your posts and what you're doing in that thread. That being said, I'm not forum police, it's not my place so you're right I should let it go and do likely owe you an apology. I still get endless messages from all over accusing me of pumping tmall products. I need a break from blowout so I'm done posting.

Just ripped a fat pack box because I had the itch (it was supposed to be my Christmas day rip but I couldn't wait anymore).

Nothing huge but hit some decent stuff that adds up in value fast (expanded my Zion/Morant PC). The top 4 cards were most likely:

1 x Morant Luminance Bronze
1 x Morant Luminance (regular)
1 x Morant Phoenix
1 x Zion Phoenix

Love ripping Chronicles haha

No problem at all! I haven't checked current sold listings but I'm assuming it's around $300 (I recently sold 4 at $289.99 per on eBay in the last 2-3 weeks). There's 12 packs in a fat pack box.

It's really the most fun high floor/low ceiling break out there (IMO).

I don’t think that card has ever hit the market. I know Packman PCs the Grizz so it sounded like the guy may sell to him. We will see! There isn’t a comp.

Easily, probably much more. Supply has been decreasing and price steadily increasing by the week. Blasters are currently going for around 65-70 and hangers are around 45 each now. Give it a little time and the rest of the flippers will have none left and prices should balloon up and catch up to the other 19/20 sealed wax, should surpass the other products aside from Prizm, Optic and Mosaic. These have only been out of retail for a couple months, in due time these will fetch a pretty penny

They will climb as people keep itching for something affordable to rip and available options become fewer and fewer. I would not be selling this stuff right now. Appreciation is virtually inevitable.

That climb will most certainly accelerate with continued strong play from Zion and a return to action from Ja. Not to mention there will likely be a few surprise soph performances out of the 19-20 rookie class that continue to drive prices up.

Also, If the 20-21 class doesn’t have a blossoming star emerge throughout the course of this season, that will really bump up the 19-20 wax prices as well.

Blowout paying $300 for sealed Fat/Cello boxes now up from $210 not that long ago so good indication of future trend.
