I'm wondering if it's a nod to vintage NES Mario games- Ichiro in the mushroom kingdom. Perhaps a statement on memory? How aging might impact our perception of the past, rendering our earlier selves an unreliable narrator to our own stories.

There is the potential for some nightmare fueled cards in this run. I'm not a fan of Ron English's work personally, but I'm excited to see what he does here just to see how people react to it. I suspect P70 may introduce more questions than answers for you.

I wonder if all of the sneakerboi-friendly artists/"creatives" are going to help drive up the price of any of these vintage cards even further. Will we see P70-induced run-ups in the price of '54 Aaron or Banks?

I'll consider Nintendo Ichiro over lunch. Right now, I'm lost in the differences between Fucci's Jackie and Mays.

This brings up an interesting point for the people in here who don’t know anything about the new creatives. From a purely artistic perspective with no consideration given to set building tactics, what would you do? Look up the new creatives beforehand or wait for their drops to experience their style for the first time?

It depends how open minded you are after forming an opinion of someone's work in a different arena. I don't care for Fucci at all outside of P2020, but that did not stop me from enjoying his P2020 work immensely. I enjoyed EfDot's mural work immensely outside of the project, but I didn't love his cards in P2020. I think if you can separate them, it's fun to look them up and get a sense of who they are/what they're about. I think if it'll bias the product for you, I would stay away from it and just look them up after the cards are released.

I looked up the artists going into Project 2020 and Thiele eventually became a disappointment. I'm doing Project 70 cold.

Card number 1 will most likely be Kershaw, Betts, or Bellinger. I can't think of anybody else who could headline it.
