So easy to buy when red card exclusive on cards first came out. Now these bots buying up before it even goes live for everyone making it harder every week

The number of red cards has 10x'd since that first week. Target bought themselves a few weeks when they went red card exclusive, but in 6 months they haven't really done anything meaningful against bots except that first week prizm dropped back in march. That week they canned almost every bot order. Bots adapted and its been game over since then.

This and backend checkouts. Red cards don’t really matter all that much when product doesn’t even make it to front end.

yep. when I sat bot that's really what I mean is the backend checkout.

It's just a loophole in their system. The product is "live" and able to be checked out before the ATC button lights up on the front end. Sometimes it's 3-5 seconds, sometimes it's as much as 20 seconds. It's a really small delay in the grand scheme, but enough of one that manual is dead unless stock is huge.

Targets needs $40 blasters and $60 megas and it will be all over for flippers.

Somehow got 5 select blasters today…took a couple tries but it went through. Just sucks we sign up for a red card and it’s still just as hard as it was before.

I actually saw the links today for the first time! Almost had a couple blasters but I tried to change the qty and then they went OOS. I may give up, I’d have better odds waiting at Walmart at 5:55am and beating the other losers in a foot race, which I may resort to because I want to rip something… supposed to have some chrome blasters showing up today but I’m far less excited about baseball then I would be about basketball or football.

Not disagreeing or anything, but what would you price hobby at then? There would have to be retail exclusives in order for people to even buy the product. They could also do a 1st edition like they do in some releases that happens on a dutch auction via the website (when fanatics owns it will be easier).

Oh yea, or even the breakers would do a mixed break with a bunch of retail and a lower end hobby box so there is at least 1 "good" hit in the break.

People are already paying $40-50 for blasters on the secondary, so I don't think much would have to change. For certain releases, that is the clearing price.

I'm a big fan of dutch auctions. That's the most economically sound way of allocating products and I wish everything was released in that format. That would largely solve the problem.

As long as people keep joining retail group breaks and buying blasters/megas/cellos on the secondary market nothing is going to change
