You did everything the right way. You didnt get greedy and have grandma created an account for the raffle for more boxes (nerds!). I feel bad your cases were cancelled. I feel that Topps owes you an explanation as to why your 3 boxes were cancelled.

wow, i'd be livid if they had cancelled my MC boxes. What a garbage move, they owe you lot at the very least an explanation.

Don't really need an explanation here. Topps oversold their inventory because they don't know how to run either the club or a raffle.

If he contacts Topps maybe they will throw some rewards points his way. Worth a try.

I have 2 memberships. I didn't try to order an extra 3 boxes, because it said one per membership. Even though I have 2, it's not like I can sign into the different memberships. All the extra membership gets me are the sets that are sent out and the complete set at the end of the year.

They even sent out last chance emails a day or two after the raffle to people who hadn’t claimed and I assume were the original cancelled inventory. If they still had to cancel MC orders while doing that, that’s terrible.

This isn't how multiple memberships work in other collector clubs. If additional memberships are allowed per person, each one receives all of the same benefits.

Something is off here. If Topps feels that paying for a 2nd membership is not enough profit to allocate additional boxes for that member, then pricing for the club is wrong. I'm not talking about raising the membership fee. It should be lowered especially since some members had their one and only Finest Flashbacks order canceled.

If Topps cannot live up to the guaranteed boxes for members, which seems to be the number one reason why many joined, they need to seriously consider overhauling the club.

In case people forget here is what membership provides:

Gift with Membership: 20-card Set + Autograph

• (2) 20-Card Sets

• (1) 20-Sticker Set

• (1) 20-Card "Members Vote" MLB Set + Autograph

• (1) "582 Montgomery" stamped Topps Baseball Complete Set

• Exclusive access to purchase "2019 Topps Brooklyn Collection" featuring all-new configuration on Topps.com

• NEW! Collectible Pin

• NEW! Exclusive Access to Pre-Sale window for select Topps 2020 Online Exclusives including Sapphire, Ginter X, and Archives Snapshots.

• First option for membership renewal

There is nothing about guaranteed product on Topps online exclusives, at least for this year's membership. There is an opportunity to purchase some of the online exclusives before the public can purchase. There was no early access to Bowman First Edition.

In other clubs, the "opportunity to purchase" means right to buy which is guaranteed for certain exclusives and the reason why these kinds of clubs exist in the first place.

Opened my 3 MC boxes this weekend with my 8 year old. He's become as much or more addicted to ripping wax than even I am (which is good and bad both).

Anyway, nothing of note on refractors or golds in boxes 1 and 2, and no "extra hits". Did get a Robert in box 2. Box 3 was by far our "hot box". Got a Trout base, Acuna base, Yordan and another Robert, and then in the last pack we pulled the beauty attached below.

Again, as excited as I was to see it, it caused him to do a couple laps around the cabin yelling in excitement. Sometimes it's nice to get the $'s/value, but sometimes it's about the reaction/experience even more.

What would be some examples of clubs that provide guaranteed products? Just curious. Are these sneaker clubs, toy clubs, etc?

Even if he comes up with some obscure examples, Topps is not one of those clubs. Topps has very clearly presented this as an opportunity for MC members, not a guarantee.

Best example is Integrity Toys. My sister has been a member since the beginning and is very happy as their products can go for big bucks on ebay. I even joined one year but got tired of having to ship large boxes. Fee is only $50 so I may do it again next year.

They've managed to run their club better than Topps by delivering on their promises. When members order an item it actually gets delivered.

But go on cheering Topps. I'm sure they will continue to value customer service over profits.

Just saying, you made a post claiming that clubs all over the place have guarantees for members. You were able to come up with one obscure example.

If Topps is so awful, why are so many people trying to get their hands on this Topps product?

I'm not singing praises for their customer service.

But they do deliver guaranteed products...5 exclusive sets per year. They delivered last year, and so far this year seems on track.

The pre-sale access stuff, while realistically is the biggest draw now, is still technically a perk.

I'm a member because, as a collector, I like what I get from the membership.

Do I wish Topps 'cared' more about their customers? Yes. But as an avid collector, they have a monopoly on licensed cards, and so I choose to buy them still for my personal enjoyment.

If I ever thought an organized movement to boycott them would actually work and get their attention, I'd probably participate.

But in reality, we should be lobbying MLB to ditch exclusive licensing. Along with the NHL, NFL, and NBA. This is probably the single biggest driving factor behind Topps' indifference towards meaningful customer service.

Update, for those that are dealing with the same issue as me.

Called Topps customer service this morning at 8:30am PST. Was told by automated message that their customer service line would be opening at 1pm EST today.

Called back at 11am PST. Sat on hold for one hour. At the 1hr. 2min. mark, call was disconnected.

Called back at 12:30pm PST. Sat on hold. Right at the 55min. mark, my call was picked up. After confirming my order number with the agent, I was told that a number of 582 MC orders and accounts had been flagged/banned for trying to order more than their limit. Those that had been flagged were notified by an email. He said that it seems that there have also been a number of "accidental" cancellations, such as mine. He said that they are escalating these cases to management as they are being found. He also said that they do still have some boxes in stock, so they should be able to make it right and still provide me my order. So, fingers crossed, now I have to wait for them to call me back to re-place my order.

Oh sweet! I’m going to email them. Had the same issue. Broke down and bought a box, reasonably priced at $300 from a buddy.

That is great news that they are flagging accounts that exceed the limits. Then terrible that they are accidentally flagging and cancelling legit orders. Then great news that they are making it right.

I always feel bad for Topps customer service. Topps is obviously terribly managed and understaffed, and CS bears all the brunt

I'm interested in seeing if anyone else who had their order accidentally cancelled also ordered something else from topps.com that day.

I made my order for 3 boxes of Finest Flashbacks then later that day also made an order for 3 Project 2020 cards. Is this the reason I got flagged you think?

It could be if the system is not sophisticated enough to determine the difference in products. Did you get an email stating your were flagged?

Thanks for the reply. No, I did not. I never even got a cancellation email. I just went into my account and saw it was closed.

A few days after I ordered I noticed a lot of board members got their Montgomery Club preorders delivered and/or shipped. I didn't receive any for several days and got worried. I emailed them through the website to inquire when my order will ship. Once it cancelled, I emailed them again with a stern email that asked why my order was cancelled?
