That would've been a terrific spot to do so. Two outs (right?), and the batter before smoked one against Eric, who was saved by a nice play by Johnson. What makes you think he would fair any better against a good righty hitter who was 4-5?

You DO NOT bring in Familia in that situation. Then who is left if we get the lead. When you are on the road your closer is your closer unless you run out bullpen arms and need him in early. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a game. That being said, can we bring up some more bullpen arms?

Two outs, runner on 1st on the road in a tie game; the guys arm will fall off.

What is Collins to do here? Bring in Torres, Parnell? We've seen that before; and that too blew up on him. At the end of the day, it's just a simple fact that the Mets bullpen is God awful. Gimartin finally given a chance at the 7th inning; choked. Addison Reed; choked (kind of).

Without Duda, Cuddyer, Murphy and another poor start from DeGrom; the Mets were uber lucky to even be in extra innings.

Gonna be a very very very long road trip. Just has that September feeling to it; Mets bullpen getting reamed against really bad teams. Now we have to rely on Colon to throw another gem; ugh.

Gonna be a tough September and hopefully October if our bullpen can't beat teams like the Marlins bullpen.

If I am correct, he has 13 appearances for the Mets, only 7 of them did he NOT allow an earned run. 3 of those he only pitched for one out. Sheesh, that's putrid. The only thing that has kept him from getting cut is that he's a lefty, which makes him a "specialist."
