He got kicked out of the Marines, his wife's schooling ended when she finished 8th grade, they believe in every crackpot Q conspiracy, and they know what's best for their kids....so home schooling was the obvious choice.

Their daughter had failed state requirements repeatedly and they then wanted family to pay for a tutor. (Wife doesn't work, husband makes minimum wage.)

I offered to pay for a year of private tutoring if they put their daughter back in the school system.

"They don't know what they're doing, so she's not getting indoctrinated with liberal commie culture."

So now we've got an almost illiterate niece with little social structure, no education and she's 15.

Definitely set up to succeed.

Some people know what's best for their kids.

Taken out of context as usual. He wasn't referring to the virus itself. He called it the Dems new hoax, as in politicizing it against him. Um, yeah the warm weather comment was stupid. Not defending that one

How many other homeschool families do you know personally? Sorry about your niece, but that is not the norm for homeschooled children

Totally agree that it's not the norm for homeschooled students (or at least 11 of the 12 or so families that I know personally), so I hope I didn't imply that.

Then again, belief in Q and crackpot conspiracy theories isn't the norm either and I clearly have strong beliefs against Q and other societal fringe cults.
