It's a bit premature to say he will walk. I'd say unlikely but possible. I'm going to stick to a couple convictions on lesser felonies...involuntary manslaughter or whatever Wisconsin's equivalent is maybe, plus minor him charges, something like five years maybe, not enough to totally ruin his life. Obviously, that's just a guess...but it seems likely.

In my observations, judges tend to set bail amounts commensurate with not only the charges, but the likelihood of conviction. Stronger case = higher bond. $2 million was a statement. But again, we'll see.

The legal system has handled it. Now it's just posturing. Sure, they can toss out all sorts of baseless claims and contest this repeatedly until the end of time, but come Jan 20, Biden will be sworn in whether this is settled or not.

Due Process is not offensive. Abuse of that process is. I'd like to see some of these attorneys explain the frivolity of this to their respective Bar Associations. I've long felt Bars were too hesitant to hold attorneys accountable for their crap.

But yeah, in the end you are correct. Never Trumpers have nothing to worry about...unless a few paintball experts spouting nonsense from the back of a pickup truck with spit stains down the door panels is worth worrying about.

You are missing the main issue here. Trump can file frivolous claims and investigate phantom issues tilll the cows come home, there is no problem there. The problem is that he is actively thwarting the incoming administrations ability to plan for, stay apprised of, and address issues that affect ALL Americans. We have transition teams and protocols for a reason, which is to help ensure that the functioning of a very complex and voluminous set of government bodies, agencies, and systems are working as efficiently and effectively as possible in the months between the election and inauguration.
