Couple good games in NY, and hard fought Os win tonight. Should be a nice rubber match tomorrow.

It’s fun watching playoff baseball in June! I do still worry about our starters ability to stay strong through a playoff run. Especially now that Bradish is done for the year. Burnes and Grayson have been amazing. Suarez and Irvin continue to surprise. And Povich has been solid in his first couple starts. It’s the back half that I worry about. These arms can get worn down as we are not even halfway through the season.

Elias is on the phones looking for arms to bolster the rotation/bullpen. Would like to add another starter and a high quality pen arm

Big game tonight! The Yankees just lost to Toronto, so if the O’s can win tonight they will have sole possession of first place.

After a brutal June with only one day off and facing many of the top teams in MLB, it’s nice to find ourselves in sole possession of first place!

I’m heading to the game tonight. Not a fan of Sunday night games (I purchased the plan b/c I prefer day games), but it will still be fun.

Povich’s ERA is now over 6 after getting shellacked yesterday. The Orioles are in desperate need of acquiring a starter to fill out the back half of the rotation. Burnes and Grayson are aces. Suarez has pitched well but will only give you 5-6 innings a start. Kremer is solid when healthy but can’t be relied upon. And Irvin/Povich at the 5 spot is def a weakness that needs to be addressed.

Plus, we already know Bradish will be out until at least 2nd half of next season (assuming all goes well) and Burnes will likely be gone. So acquiring a starter with one or two more years left under control now could be looked at as an advance move to improve the rotation entering next season.

The million dollar question is which prospects do you give up?

What an evisceration that was.

You have to figure you're gonna lose some games, but I'm at a loss to understand how yesterday happened. A team that's at the bottom of its division, well below .500, and probably ranked about 27th out of 30 just ran roughshod over a team that's arguably the best in MLB (or, at least in the top three).

I agree that Elias needs to really start looking hard for some pitching.

I didn't have a warm fuzzy feeling about Povich. I don't think he's ready for primetime.

As a Reds fans I could see them letting Montas go if second wild card becomes unreachable. He would probably be an ok fit

I was at the game in Oakland. What a fun game. Tons of homers. Some great action. I’m not a fan of either but it was great to be there for this one.

One SP name being thrown around as a trade target is Garrett Crochet of the White Sox. He has the added benefit of being under control through the 2026 season. So if the Orioles get him now it could also be seen as an early move to strengthen the rotation for next season.

I'm all for going for guys with multiple years given our window. I love Corbin but knowing it's only 1 year is a bit sad.

I will be going to the early 11:30 game today. O’s and Yanks are tied for first, so whoever wins today gets bragging rights of being in 1st at the All Star break. Both teams have been playing bad ball lately.

Kremer vs Rodon. Hopefully Kremer can give the O’s a quality start and a chance to win. His ERA is 4.42 entering the game and he seems to alternate between good starts and bad starts. Due for a good one.

Weather is going to be horrible. Sunny with a high of 95 in later innings. Stands will be packed so this will be a yucky day for a game.

If we can beat the yankees in two straight series you can win one game

They did indeed. Needed something to feel good about going into AllStar Break after a tough stretch

It was definitely a must-win game and the Orioles pulled off a huge win. Next meeting with Yankees is end of September and likely will factor into playoff seating. Picking up the win today was huge!

So what’s everyone’s thoughts on yesterday’s draft picks. Looks like Honeycutt could give them some power if they lose Santander and Mountcastle (although Mounties HR have fallen off this year a bit anyway).

Honeycutt looks like he's Santander's twin except he has a little better speed.

One week until the trade deadline. Who do the O’s get? What do they give up?

It would be funny if Flaherty came back. He did nothing for us last year but he has been solid for the Tigers this year. He also might not cost an arm and a leg vs some of the other SP options thrown around.

Suarez can’t last even 3 innings.

That collision between Gunnar and Mateo looked bad for Mateo. If he needs an IL stint we might see Holliday back sooner than we thought.

Connor Norby coming up for Mateo... Mateo is out indefinitely.

Chance McDermott making his major league debut tonight against the Marlins! Definitely watching that on tv tonight...
