I love the 2018 Opening Day Ohtani image.
I have few blue foils, but none of the purple.

I believe it was the first available pack pulled card of him that wasn't photoshopped (maybe they did slight adjustments, but not as obvious as the Series 2 or team set batting image ones).

Not a big boy card but just had this pop for me at SGC and I love how the deckle edge and B&W look in the tux.

(The Baseball Writers Association of America votes for the MVP).

However, Vegas odds today is now -2000 for Ohtani, and +800 for Vlad.

I don't get why they display the odds in this way. Whatever happened to 8-1?

And what the heck is -2000? I'm assuming it's 1-2 in imperial odds or 1.5 decimal.

-2000? What a crazy way of displaying odds.

I'm almost tempted to take Vlad's odds. He's hitting the line hard and Ohtani is fading so unless they have already decided it's Ohtani's no matter what, Vlad should probably be a bit shorter than he currently is.

I don't think Ohtani is a lock anymore.

Reverse the numbers for odds on.

I think -2000 means, you need to bet $2000 on Ohtani to win $100.

With the way voting is structured, Ohtani just needs to be 1st place in 16 of the 30 ballots, and he wins.
(I think the lowest he will be on the ballot is 2nd.)

No quite as confident as I was 1 week ago. Hopefully, he's done enough. They probably deserve to share the award

Gotcha. Thanks. That equates to 1-20 imperial or 1.05 in our decimal system.

That's as close to a certainty as you can get.

Is it? He's looked exhausted his last couple starts. They let him throw a career-high number of pitches, then said he could be done for the year, then penciled him in for a start 2 days later. It doesn't seem like there's any coherent plan, or if there is they keep letting him override it. I understand he's a competitor and he wants to compete, but that doesn't mean that's what's best for the team or his career. I just hope they know what they're doing. To answer questions on betting, if a player is -$4,000 that means you have to bet $4k to win $100. If a player is +850 you win $850 for every $100 you bet.

Last week it was Ohtani -7000 and Vlad +1500, now it's Ohtani -3500 and Vlad + 750, so the odds are dropping daily.

So take that as you will.
