Seeing Marvin Bagley the past couple games makes me think, "Why couldn't you have played this way the past 3 years". Ugh

at full strength the Hawks bench can really shoot the lights out. Huerter, Gallo, Lou... and still missing Hunter and Reddish

Very frustrating! Great to see them competitive compared to the first half of the season.

Gonna be an annoying thorn in someone's side in a theoretical first round matchup.

Bestbrook living his best life in this new reduced shooting role.

Does anybody else realize he's now 2 triple doubles away from tying Oscar Roberson's career mark of 181?

He now has 33 triple doubles in 59 games this year.

With 6 games left, he's probably going to break Oscar's record this season.

Still the worst player in the league tho.

Wiz at worst a 3rd seed with Ignas Brazdeikis in his place.

First, learn how to quote properly. I had no idea what you were referencing.

2nd, their ceiling is winning a 1st round series vs another average East team like NY.

They would then play Philly, who pummelled them twice recently. I guess there were injuries but they weren't even close..

So do I think they can beat the Knicks? Yes.

Do I think they can win a series vs any of the top 3 out Easy. Nope.

But if they win I'd be more than happy. I have watched plenty of them this season.

The Westbrook run is crazy right now.

So glad they dropped the standard to allow some of the bottom feeders to stay relevant otherwise we'd have them and the Pacers probably tanking right now.

I usually never agree with anything you say. But this is 100% true. Anyone can go out and get a triple double in today's no defense type style of play

And yet, Westbrook is the only player in the last 60 years to average a triple double... and he's done it 4 times now.

Anyone could do it

Its not getting any easier for them either thanks to the teams covid outbreak condensing their schedule even moreso. Add in 4 of their last 6 are on the road vs teams with something to play for and 2 more back to backs. Heavy minutes for Russ & Brad too, its hard work out there.

This reducing back to backs for the players welfare has been thrown out the window this year. I can't remember when they had 2 days off either, that's a concept which has been scrubbed almost entirely.

All this rest for the Lakers and Nets stars will count for plenty in the playoff's...

It's such a crap argument (not you, the one you're against). If getting triple doubles is so easy, why aren't other players doing it? If guys like Zion and Shaq have no ability, all they can do is dunk, etc, why can't everyone else just get buckets like they can? Not sure if anyone listens to The Real Ones podcast, but Raja Bell went off on this narrative last week. The type of people who downplay all these amazing accomplishments are the same guys who shoot 20% in rec league games.

Not bad for a guy who doesn’t have the “passion” for the game.

Agreed, the Hawks are still a year away. They are still a piece away as well from moving into the next tier. Unfortunately they are Cam Reddish's ceiling that Paul George/Ben Simmons multi-positonal forward/guard that can get his own shot and guard 1-3 away. They can be really good without that piece but that's the one thing that is holding them back from ever putting them in the next tier.

Stats are funny. They are the most objective measure of a player that we have, and yet still people pretend they don’t matter unless they support whatever narrative they are pushing or want to believe. They don’t tell the whole story, but they still paint the picture of a player’s effectiveness pretty well.

Westbrook gets triple doubles because he has freakish athleticism and plays with almost unrivaled intensity. He WANTS it more than most people he plays against. That board, bucket, assist. They aren’t dumped into his lap. Anyone that has actually played sports at a high level understands this.

Yes, he makes some boneheaded plays some times, yes he isn’t the best shooting guard in the NBA. Not saying the dude is the best NBA player because he gets triple doubles, but to wave off stats just because a guy you don’t care for is getting them is just 100 percent biased garbage.

I love Luka’s game, but I don’t hear the same disdain for his triple doubles. Instead, they are lauded as amazing and cheered every step of the way. Again, I’m actually aggressively pro-Luka, but for one person to be amazing because they are accumulating them and the other to be trash for the same reason is sheer lunacy.

Don’t even get me started on the idiotic criticisms of Zion I’ve seen on these boards. That dude stays healthy and we will see some stats never witnessed before. Lol at people criticizing how “easy” the buckets that Zion gets are. As soon as he gets the ball, the other team looks terrified and immediately try to form a shield wall to try and stop him from getting to the basket. He will blow by a guard only to be greeted by two people at the rim and STILL finishes better than most players if they were simply one on one. If he had any type of consistent perimeter shooting flanking him on the wing, he would either be averaging 32 a night or nearly a triple double himself.
