If so one sold for $40 bucks about 7 months ago. Another /6 green foil sold for $143 about 5 months ago. Hope that helps.

I think a lot was due to it mostly being built in to the recent prices. He’s been incredible but if you think about it, his prices are pretty insane in a short time. A Brady Champ Ticket 9 was basically 2-4 grand for 14 years.

Noticed an Optic green auto was ending tonight. From the pics, its definitely not mint but extremely rare with only 5 made.

Nice card but for whatever reason green /5 are much less sought after than gold /10. I don’t ever see it changing either

I am curious to see the trajectory of Mahomes compared to Brady as it relates to card prices. To me, Brady is the GOAT because of his longevity/accomplishments. A guy like Mahomes is a superior talent to Brady imo but obviously he has a long way to go to catch up with Brady in the accomplishments department (although he is off to a great start). I am curious what people think regarding the difference in the market between now vs then. I admit, back in 2000 I did not even know football cards were still a thing. It seems like the contenders auto was clearly the go to brand for Brady? With Mahomes, we have NT, Contenders, Flawless, Prizm, Optic, Select and more. Are there huge differences between the 2 based on product availability/preferences? From my perspective, if Mahomes can continue to play at the level he is playing at now, and if he gets to 3 Superbowl wins, I could see him passing Brady as the GOAT for a lot of people, myself included. Or at the very least creating a Jordon/Lebron type debate like we see with basketball. |

Also, I think Mahomes is going to do what people thought or hoped Rodgers would do.

Wow, wonder how old his son was? Such a shame, an amazing card in such terrible condition.

Just went back and rewatched as yesterday was a rollercoaster ride. The last 7 minutes was Brady esque by Pat. 5/5 on the go a head drive.
Thought about selling a few things if they won, but don’t think I will. I can’t imagine his stuff getting any cheaper. No reason to think they won’t be back there next year. I am not sure there is an answer for a healthy Pat Mahomes.

That is so crazy to see. What is even crazier to me is that there isn't even a lot of the big boys in there. No Contenders, Prizm, NT, or Flawless. Obviously a lot of 1/1's but it is all kind of lower end brands if you will. I can't even imagine a lot made of a mix of those other missing brands.

SPA was the king at the time. SPX was next in line, and had the first jersey/auto RCs that year. Contenders was on par with SPX. Topps Chrome, Bowman Chrome, and Showcase were in the next tier. Compared to today, there was so little product available. But there were far fewer collectors, and certainly no "investors". Now, any QB with any talent starts insanely high. Mahomes was really the perfect investment in 2017. I just wish I had been paying attention. Big arm, mobile QB, with a year to learn Andy's system while sitting on the sidelines? That's a no brainer.
