I don’t even think if this were a 2018-19 release it would get 100K. I’d imagine for this years stuff he’d be either #3 or #4 behind Zion, LeBron, and Ja.

It does seem lame. But it's their stated policy. If the redemption is not expired however, you may be able to score a $3,000 Kobe pack.

Yea I saw that but mine isn’t expiring until 6/4/2021 so I guess I’ll be getting a Kobe pack if they don’t have my card or a replacement available. Can’t complain about that

This may have been posted previously, but a guy in a Facebook group said he submitted a Kobe auto redemption in 2008....and Panini just fulfilled it with an auto!

I think that’s fine. If you entered the code before its expiration date they should honor it. I think the Points are awarded only for those wwho redeem past the expiration date

Panini wasn’t even manufacturing NBA cards in 2008.

Agreed. I remember their first NBA product was 2009-10 Panini Basketball...and I sold Blake Griffin high when I had the chance.

There is the 1/1 of Kobe Commerative card out of the redemption packs on eBay. So I believe that has to hurt the pack values some.

For reference I pulled and submitted a redemption for a 2017-18 Essentials Kobe Bryant 'Called to Excellence" Auto /25 in early 2018.

I've bitched and worried a lot on here. Went from Friday to Saturday to Monday delivery. Signed for it today just a little while ago.

Just wanted to say Panini came through this time. Was worried when I saw the form letter in the box and then speechless when I opened the envelope in the box. Kobe was and will always be my favorite athlete. Got weirdly choked up when I saw it. It's beautiful.

I got a Kobe auto so I'm happy but I do feel bad for the Legit Kobe fans getting packs instead of cards.

My question is how does Panini get away with giving packs? The back of the redemption states "I understand that Panini America, Inc. will send me a comparable card in its place if the specified card is not available to ship within 4 months"

Some of the packs have great cards but some have cards that aren't comparable to the specified Kobe autos

Were any Kobe Bryant autograph cards actually inserted into packs by Panini or was every single one a redemption? People here have posted about redemptions going back years. I've read most of this thread and don't remember seeing this discussed.

Actually most of the time Kobe is a very active signer and redemptions are the exception to the general rule.

That is the best card in the set hands down! Possibly the most emotion provoking Kobe auto i’ve ever seen. Wow!

Yeah man. I was able to secure the third championship contenders auto yesterday on IG to go with his First. Just need that one. I missed out yesterdays auction

Agree. He was a panini team panini guy and was live in most of their bigger boxes. Pulled my last Kobe from immaculate last year and so glad I kept it unlike the Luka Red redemption I pulled.

And yeah, if it was a redemption and they tried to give me a pack zero chance I’m accepting that.

This Contenders auto is just so beautiful. Reminds me of Jordan’s Mr. June series in the 90’s except this 10000% better because it’s a real signature unlike the facsimile Upper Deck used on that Jordan set.
