It's more to do with a massive backlog of orders. Read it's a temporary thing until they get back on track with turnaround times. We'll see what happen in the future. They kept getting tons of small orders at $50-60 for 2 or 5 days that jumped the line and kept bulk orders from moving forward. Bumping up the price makes people think twice before submitting. Not sure if it's a smart business model, but it *should* help with the backlog.

At this point I wish I could just get a refund and my cards back already... 30 day sub that arrived 3 months ago, with ZERO communication besides an email stating "yes we got it"
Needless to say, this will be my last time ever using BGS |

Because they’d have to constantly rename them. A month ago the 2 and 5 day service levels were not delayed. Now look at them. BGS is kidding themselves if they think raising the prices on 2 and 5 day will help the turnaround times. They are so backed up and only getting more backed up as the days go by. Subs at 30 days may be 22 weeks right now, but when that order you sent yesterday hits 22 weeks, the estimated time will probably be 52 weeks.
BGS has three things going for them until recently. 1. Ability to guarantee turnaround times. 2. Lower cost for high-end cards compared to PSA. 3. More lenient grading compared to PSA. #1 is out the window. #2 has been minimized with the price hike. #3 hardly matters anymore when 9.5s sell for 1/3 to 1/2 their PSA 10 counterpart, and an $8 PSA 9 sub makes more financial sense than a more expensive BGS 9.5 sub.

![]() 2 of my 5 day orders delayed and first time not even a grade is given. Usually they give out a grade at least even if it’s not yet shipped out. BGS loves to charge your credit card the minute they get your package but not the same when it comes to deadlines Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just checked on my 30 day order that was was received on 5/1 and everything is listed with serial numbers and “ Moved to Repository” status. Not exactly sure how long it’s been this way, but figured this might give people waiting on 30 days orders an idea of where they are. I’ll update again when it’s shipped.

So, I'm gathering that the emails shouldn't be taken as accurate regarding timelines? I physically dropped off my cards in Dallas on 7/1 for a 30-day order, and just today (8/17) got an email saying my cards have been "received". At the time, they told me it would take about two months for a 30 day order, but if they just are just now putting the cards in their queue and I have a 22-week wait on top of the 6 weeks already... wow. They have a business problem that they clearly are not solving right now. It will be interesting to see how much business they lose because of it.

Called customer service and told them exactly that and they just went quiet. 5 day service is now 15 days and I told them any chance it could be earlier and they were like no it’s going to be 15 days at the very least. Done with Beckett for now. No guarantee means PSA express all the way from now on. Beckett advantage over PSA has always been about guaranteed service and cheaper prices but instead they decided no more guarantee plus more money out of your pocket. PSA does the exact same thing but instead your profit margin is lot higher with a PSA 10 over a BGS 9.5. Adios Beckett Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BGS definitely needs to change the names of service levels. At this point, having service times as the name of the service level is foolish and only serving to leave people pissed off.

Starting to think BGS stopped doing in-person drop-off and pick up because they don't want to deal with the headache of tellng people it's going to take 15 days for a 5 day service level to their face. They said it was Covid related, but I doubt that's really the case. Schools in the area are offering in-person and business are still open to customers. Beckett even has those doing in person stand outside in a line.
Doubt we see in-person orders come back until they've dealt with the massive backlog. Such a shame as it was a great way to ensure your card was dropped off and you didn't have to deal with the insurance and shipping. PSA is the way to go if that's the case. |
