I like the design of the welcome to the 582 set way better than these gaudy cards.

This 5 card collection is most likely not for resale..
That is Topps mentality, They sell it to the ones who will keep them so they won't lose money because they wont go out and try to resell them...
They are selling to collectors...
BUT what collector out there buys high end packs/boxes??

They are marketing the membership exclusives to collectors, but the buyers, of these high end packs/boxes, are the gamblers!

Just because this message board is not impressed, it doesn't mean they didn't sell 500 of these. Lots of collectors with disposable income that are not on this forum, many don't even know it exists.

I don't think you have to be a member of this forum to know that dropping $1,000 for five random autos is crazy!

I only joined thinking topps might start their own version of panini's f.o t.l. and members would get first chance. Not going to spend the $1000 on 5 autos. That can go a long way on other singles.

Some don't care. Have you seen the ending price for some Bowman auctions Houdini is running? People with money want what they want. $1k may not be much to them. For me, its a lot and I'm not a buyer!

True, but I wonder how many people didn't get the e-mail and didn't know they were supposed to? If it wasn't for this place, I wouldn't have known anything was happening.

called and canceled 2 sets of Brooklyn...making us order blind with the hurry up and order email...then to find out (thanks to this forum before Topps sent out the email) what was really in it,...no thanks!

2017 Topps Sapphire was $1500. And what Topps is offering isn’t even a set. It’s just five random autographs for $1000.

Maybe $250 - $400. You have to assume you're going to get 3 garbage Auto's at least, with a shot at 1 or 2 big ones. That's probably what I'd be comfortable paying.

Is it current highest set because you have to buy 5 autos at 1000.00 and pick up the other 45 autos to complete set???

I can buy a box of 2018 Draft super jumbo, get 5 autos, an additional 595 cards, and have a shot at a number of cards worth hundreds to thousands more than the best card from this set and only have to pay $275 for it.

I think that's a very valid point, there's only so much upside on this product. Even the 1/1 parallels, big deal they essentially have the same design as the base cards /25. Also for a throwback set it seems incredibly lazy to just put different color borders on the cards. This isn't something Topps did back in the day when these were supposed to be unreleased from so why are they doing it now. This whole thing just seems like a bad product.
