Cracked my nine boxes. Not terrible. Not stellar. Very first pack had a Domingo German refractor AU. Also hit on a Michael Fulmer red refractor AU /25 and Matt Adams Gold refractor /50. Would have preferred rookies on those!!! Fisher Xfractor and Zimmer refractor we top RC hits. Several Bellinger, not much Judge.

So I ask someone else the same question, he told me "due to the people searching the packs, they no longer sell any"
I totally don't blame Target for not putting up with that BS.
So again Brooklyn pack searchers thanks.

I call BS on your story. Target would not do this. LOL

Found 15 yesterday and wasn't nearly as good as "first wave". I here others rumbling about front loaded Topps products, especially retail, and I'm starting to believe their may be some truth to this. My first 15 boxes (found these as early as anybody did on here)had a numbered card or auto in every box but one. The 15 from yesterday had 2 autos, 3-4 refractors, and 3 Judge's and 12 Bellingers? Luck of the draw?? Likely. Topps front loading all these products?? Who knows, does make sense on their end. Thoughts on this theory?? Seems to come up often in a variety of products.

Default Mega update boxes?

I’ve been seeing a lot of these posted with some great returns.

Are they really $13 or is there some kind of sale?

I’m heading to Walmart and target to shop and was gonna take a look for them.

Since I’m not much of a baseball guy I’m kinda wondering what I should be on the lookout for and if it’s worth it to pick some up.

Thanks!

They are no longer $13 a box : Saturday only back to $17.99 if you find any. Odds are sold out : Walmart just released Topps Gallery : my buddy bought 2 collector boxes w/ 2 autos a box : box one hit a blue Judge Auto /50 : Box 2 Mancini blue Auto /50

Product extremely hit or miss. See guys post breaks of 10+ boxes with no autos and limited color. See guys hitting 4-5 autos in ten box breaks. Be careful. It's fairly safe at $13. At $20 it's more a gamble.

Regardless if there is any validity to this theory, your sample size is way too small to jump to that conclusion. And at this point, I do not think Topps has to frontload anything. They know it's all going to sell out because of the attics they have as customers. Opening packs in regards to "good hits" is a gamble. Not all groups of 15 boxes (or even a hundred) can be "winners".

The Topps Chrome Update Mega Boxes are Target Only.

The Topps Gallery and Topps Holiday Set are Walmart only.

This is all in theory, you will find some other retailers (Toys R US and Fred Meijer have been cited) that may see some of these products.

Maybe it’s because I wear a tinfoil hat but I’m a believer of frontloaded products. Obviously, there’s no data to back me up, just observations as a consumer every year.

It makes sense, look at how ridiculous everyone is running to every target buying out retail boxes (once the laughing stock of the boards). That doesn’t happen if hits are in line with the stated odds (1 refractor /250 every 3 boxes, lol). Once the dust settles and boxes start yielding hits more in line with the pack odds, or worse, the frenzy will be over and what’s left of the boxes will be on the shelves for the children!

I got two in a larger box (12x9x6) this week - but mostly like this.

I bought 2 in a store - and 14 (2 at a time) online

They did it at a store in Charlotte when I lived there. Then they came back with everything in boxes and blisters packs to defer searchers, then I moved so I don't know what happened next.

Default 2017 Topps Chrome Update Mega Target

Curiously excited to see how far singles fall by this time next week as yesterday's sale should produce a nice glut of listings in the next few days

I think we'll see a wave of these hit since they were on sale and on 25% off this weekend which is great for singles buyers.

I tend do agree. Obviously my sample size was small and I realize that. I rarely buy retail but when that occasional product blows up and has decent value I'll buyin large quantities if I can find it. Whatever the product may be, always seems a little better on the initial release. Possibly Topps gauges market, puts a large chunk of hits early, sees product is hot, places remaining held back hits with a ton of base in rest of release?? Who knows, purely speculation but wouldn't surprise me. Why wouldn't they?? I bust my fair share of product and everything across the board I've done better at release as far as bigger hits go.
Not whining or complaining, I just sometimes wonder how the entire packing out hits process goes down.

I agree that they front load retail. Why? Because you went back and bought 15 more because of the hits you got the first time. Heck, their marketing is working.

Might be on to something! 😉 And I'd continue to buy at $14.
