Sanders was the clear dem choice but Hillary had way too much clout. Just goes to show you that big money beats out public support 10/10 times.

How has your life negatively changed since President Obama has been in office? How has you life positively changed in the same time frame?

My medical has tripled for monthly costs. But at least others got what they needed at others expense.

Thank you. I hate the "flip-flipper" argument as a general rule. If you are unwilling to evolve, you are not fit to be President. I don't think Hillary is perfect, and I am sure some of her positions have changed for political reasons. But I also think she is a reasonable, intelligent human being who won't set the country on fire. A Trump presidency would be frightening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trump intimates that he wouldn't honor our NATO alliances if Russia were to encroach upon the Baltic members. That's a pretty big red flag if you ask me.

Everybody agrees that changing facts can justify a change in one’s view. But Clinton’s insistence that learning about “new” or “better” information propels her reassessments prompts this question: What was the new information? Why would a Trump presidency be frightening? Because he is a strong negotiator that has built an empire across the globe? Is it because he promotes small business? Has promised to bring manufacturing to the US? Wants to increase tariffs? Show me where it hurt you.
My sincerest apologies. Taxes go up every year regardless and health care costs also go up each year as well. Trust me, I don't agree with it, I think the rate of inflation to the rate of wages is very off balance unless you work in finance. Money talks in this country more than anything else which I find very sad. I don't understand, from an ethical standpoint, the purpose of inflation. My husband and I talked about this on our long car ride. It's all man made bs.

I can't answer for Hillary. That is a reasonable question. I don't actually think Trump is a strong negotiator, or that he built an empire. I think he was born into extreme wealth and as a result has been in a position of power for every negotiation throughout his life. I have no idea whether he will be an adequate negotiator if he is ever in a position where he does not have the clear upper hand. Based on his apparent thin skin and bullying tactics, I have major doubts. I do not have any firsthand experience negotiating with him, of course, so this is all just my perception from afar. Employers took this as an easy out to push costs onto their employees and then blamed the government. I had cancer in my 20's. The fact that I could have been denied insurance 5 years ago is scary. The people that need it the most (Pre-existing conditions) were the ones that couldn't get the proper care they needed. I feel like the whole system is broken. I had a pharmacy bill that was 90k from one of my hospital stays. Thankfully, I had already met my out of pocket max for the year but 90k is just way too much considering they charge $50 for an advil.

I honestly don't get why people complain so much about the current administration or those of the past. If you have food on your table, a roof over your head, feel loved and secure, move on with your day and try to give back to those that don't have those things.
Here is a story that humbled me recently: I got mad at my husband for giving a homeless man $5 while we were in Chicago because I was saving it to buy us drinks for on the way home. My husband asked if we could still afford it after the fact. Of course we could afford $5 more dollars. That man used it to buy himself lunch. I got upset over $5 but in reality I didn't value it as much at that man did. That man might not eat today. He probably had to sleep outside last night. He carried every single item he owned in a dirty, ripped back back, he only had 1 pair of shoes with holes in, clearly has not seen a doctor in some time, and spends most of his day alone and here I am complaining about $5.

This didn't happen to me. I work for a small business and pay all of their bills. The owners costs also went up. We use to have great health insurance.

For all you 'the founding fathers weren't talking about automatic weapons' (which I'd also like to point out are very difficult for the average Joe to attain - I think you mean semi-auto), I'd like to point you to the case of Caetano v. Massachusetts 2016:
'The second amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of its founding.' While that case in particular was about a stun gun, the wording is about as clear as it gets in regards to the founding father argument. Beyond that, remember the founding fathers were rebelling against their tyrannical government when they drafted the constitution. I'm almost positive they wouldn't have an issue with everyday law abiding citizens owning a rifle equivalent to what the tyrannical governments soldiers would be armed with. You can't fight a squad of soldiers carrying M4s with black powder and pitchforks. Well, you could, but you wouldn't last long. Unless you're Mel Gibson in The Patriot, then all anyone would need is a distraction and a tomahawk. Notice I used the phrase 'almost positive' above. Do you know why that is? Because I wasn't there. None of us were, so don't presume to know exactly what the founding fathers meant in their wording. But based on the events that were taking place at the time it was written, its safe to say advocates for guns are closer to being correct in their interpretation. That said, I'm all for making it a process to own a firearm. Testing, licensing, background checks, whatever. I'm just tired of seeing the founding father argument. Its nonsense. |
