With the lead down to 6 in front of the Rays. The Yankees conveniently play the Rays 6 times in the next 10 days....

We could very well witness the Yankees blow this lead OR they can wake up and pretty much lock it down.

It's a new month...

Its the same as it ever was. If Judge doesn't hit they lose, if he does hit and nobody else does they lose. Nobody on this team knows how to make the pitcher work.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa is no longer a viable option for the Yankees:

You know I have no argument if Falefa is replaced.

Its interesting Donaldson may be Cashmans death blow.

Gio is hitting 50 pts higher with 50 less Ks

And if I hear one more time how great Donaldson is defensively I'm gonna lose it. YOU HAD A GREAT DEFENSIVE 3B last year!!!

There won't be a death blow because H.A.L. doesn't care. He's a beta and will be more than happy to let Cohen have all the NY tabloid headlines. I honestly can't understand why he doesn't just take the 6B he could probably get for the team.

The Twins gave NY Hicks, Donaldson and IKF. Makes up for the years of NY owning them in every series.

Almost forgot about Hicks. Now, we must burn the Twin Cities to the ground

Don't throw up in your mouths.

@NewsBronx
Aaron Boone on his comment about Isiah Kiner-Falefa last night: “The internal numbers that we look at, as far as defensive runs saved, range, and making plays. … I would say he’s been one of the top five to seven shortstops in the game defensively this year.”

Falefa can’t even throw the ball to first on a fly half of the time, surely they can replace that pretty easily. It isn’t until his fielding starts costing them which it did Wednesday night that they might realize he is not the best option.

Then the Yankees analytics team is even dumber than we thought. According to Fangraphs, he's the 16th best shortstop in MLB fielding percentage-wise.

With the rosters expanding, Oswaldo Peraza is coming to the show.

Peraza coming up is great, it's been a long time coming.

But also, it just makes me even angrier that the front office most likely had Sept 1 circled for quite some time, meaning that they never intended him to be on the playoff roster.

What if he comes out of the gate hot while playing some of the best SS we've seen from this team in years? What if he sparks the team to lock down the AL East? The front office is okay with losing that come the playoffs?

Waiting for the rosters to expand to call up a prospect to see what he's got is what teams do when they don't expect to be in the playoffs (2016 Yankees). The fact that they are treating this with no urgency is infuriating.

Sure. All of that could happen. Or he could be Jarren Duran. Brujan. Walls.

When they traded for IKF they told us the plan.

Its a domino effect, lets say there's no IKF, you gave the spot to Peraza opening day and he sucks. Or gets hurt. So its about depth too, in a sense. Mix of vet/youth.

I don't totally disagree with you though...we went and signed Tyler Wade and Cabrera can play. Gotta sprinkle these guys in somewhere at some point.

Or trade em for guys in walking boots, pitchers who can't pitch outside Oakland city limits, etc..smh

Oh yea, everything I said is theoretical, not guaranteed. But you can see that scenario coming from a mile away with Cashman just not caring I guess.

Peraza has the ability to play miles better than IKF but it's not going to matter come October. SS should be up for grabs.

You're assuming they're going to sit IKF against Division rival Tampa. My guess is Peraza is nothing but a late game IKF replacement with the lead during this series. I'd like for it to be different, but that is the Boone way.
